I've only seen 5 flashes of lightning today, all from 5-10 miles away. I saw that much lightning every 10 seconds during Thursday's storm!

Only seen 5 flashes.... :( I haven't seen any since the cold front charged through at the very start of December 2011, accompanied by 70mph wind gusts.

Well done though and count yourself lucky, I'd have loved to have witnessed Thursdays action. good.gif

I still think that, on balance, Lincolnshire is the best area for storms in the UK, maybe joint with the far SE of Kent when they catch a French MCS.

Warm splashes of rain here from a small shower.

The sky to the SW of me has gone a very pale grey/green, slightly reminiscent of Thursday, but not as green.

Frequent showers since this morning, these very heavy and prolonged at times this afternoon. Clearance just about to arrive. Almost half inch from this afternoon's downpours alone.

I'm in Edenthorpe, there's some heavy rain headed your way any minute I would think. Gusty winds with it too. Been watching cells SW-NE for the last hour or two passing just West of here, this one has got us, no thunder though.

Just had it hit us, the cell over Sheffield appears to have a cracker of an anvil above it from here.

Very dark skies to my SW, and frequent heavy showers are passing over. The showers are gathering strength over the Pennines now - I have a feeling Newcastle could be in luck this evening again!
