I wouldn't rule that out as we still don't know whether the front from the West will reach us and the North Sea is getting its act together

Going by Lisa's forecast at lunch we will get hit by both North sea during the day and the main band later

Just looked outside and its Snowing oh I love the radar its spot on!

A few tiny flakes falling here. Looks like they're getting a dusting now down in the Yorkshire thread - I wonder if it'll keep expanding

Looking at the radar this snow could be set in for a while its only light but it may give a dusting given time a good way to start what could be a wintry weekend!

There has been some hefty shower activity out to sea today. If that drifts inland tomorrow and combines with the W front, then we would be in for a dumping.

Snowing lightly here now in a strong Sou'easterly gusting around 20-25mph.

Just had a strong gust of wind, its spoiling the wintry scenes by blowing the snow off the trees!

Must say looking at the models, Sunday is looking more and more marginal by the second really which means Monday's low could turn out to be very marginal indeed for this region.

If we get snow showers between Friday night and Saturday morning, Its best to make the most of it.

Geordiesnow, even the diabolical GFS suite has the region under sub -6c air from now until Wednesday 1800 (bar Monday 2100 to Tuesday 0300, at -5c uppers). Sunday has -7c uppers throughout. Very snowy unless you're at the immediate coast, and even then, snow is likely.

You could be right there looking at the models the 850 -5 line seems to be getting closer on every run i just about think we will be ok though

But then you need to consider those damned thicknesses which I've been harping on about this afternoon! It can snow in very marginal conditions though, back in November 2010 we got thundersnow despite the 850s briefly rising to -5, although thicknesses were favourable that time.
