Not really, there aren't many who will miss out from the latest model runs in our region wink.png

Might be easier to list those who are likely to miss out! (She says, desperately hoping that Thurrock won't be on that list)

I'm going to say areas west or sw of London central are going to get hit the worst simply the further west you go the more likly the higher amount of ppn falling as snow coming in from the west.

Nothing wrong with all the excitement and ofcourse one of the reasons many read & post here is because of their love of the weather - and excitement with snow in particular... including me.

However, I would urge some caution here and that is not based on any technical knowledge but more having seen such situations massively built up for them only to go bust.

My limited tech knowledge but many years following & researching Kent weather at least tells me to not take for granted what any model might show at present and certainly not people saying they foresee huge amounts of snow at this juncture - this is clearly giving the experts major headaches and things are bound to change right up to the last minute with things being moved further east / west, speed and amounts of precipitation etc.

Shrimper i enjoy your posts on here and on the mod thread mate but you really are doing my head in with the post above.

Granted you are only stating what you are seeing.

However you know as well as i that ppn amounts are going to be up and down like a yo-yo on each run until at least 12 hours before the event itself.

DON'T PANIC SIR !

Lol. No panic. And as you say I am just stating the facts.

It WILL change again on the 18z!

Look at the totals for parts of South Wales!

I used to live in Norway near to Oslo and every year in that area they get metres and metres of snowfall. Average winter day temperatures are -15 deg C. The coldest I experienced there was -25 deg C and that was daytime too!

met office's 3-5 day forecast:

'A strong, bitterly cold wind developing Friday, and also with snow spreading eastwards. Less windy for Saturday, and also becoming milder, with rain expected later Sunday'
