Big upgrade from the 06Z NAE.

My fear yesterday was normally when you see corrections W from the model output this only continues and rarely do we see corrections E. However this is whats occurring so far today or I should say a correction NE!

Last night I would of said 2cm but 10cm now sounds about right based on the output so far today.

Hmmm, I'm supposed to be going to Southampton on Saturday. Leaving Stevenage by train at 11am and driving home with a friend around midnight Saturday night. I have to be back for Sunday morning so Mr Chilly can go to work. I'm having second thoughts about going now.

Interesting to see the NAE run, has to be a positive. I am expecting between nothing and something.

Another beautiful clear morning here with thick hoar frost decorating the trees. -9C (car thermometer caveats applying as usual) on the nursery run so slightly colder than yesterday. Wonder if anywhere beat yesterday's -13.1C at Marham?

Hi TEITS does that mean the cold block is weakening, sorry still learning.

No remains strong.

We are just seeing variations in the track and angle of the system to our W which makes a difference with the amount of precip.smile.png

06zGFS already has the front/PPN push further NE from the SW for the time 6pm tomorrow. Also the PPN in the North Sea, almost joins up with the front. Don't know the implications of that, or perhaps its just because I am on the Europe view rather than the France/Southern UK view.

I am assuming not a lot,as far as precipitation for where I am,but keeping the cold.

That way if I wake up tommmorow with some on the ground and or snow falling throughout the day,it will be a bonus!

The 06Z GFS is now an improvement pushing the snow further NE.

I will add though that the 06Z does tend to be the most biased towards pushing everything further E but if the 12Z says the same I shall be much happier. Overall though a good start to the day.

What the models are suggesting for tonight is a light band of snow from the E will merge with a light band moving in from the W ahead of the front. Im only expecting light, patchy snow i.e blues on the Met O radar. Better than a kick in the teeth though!

For those in Norfolk and that were hit Monday. Look at the GFS PPN for this evening between 9pm and midnight. Looks interesting?
