Sunday looks pretty interesting on the GFS 06z run as well. Of course plenty to pass before then, but looks more favourable than even the 00z did for Sunday.

Sunday looks like a bit of a mess: rain, sleet and snow?

'Blob' is a firmly-established part of the Net-Weather lexicon btw!good.gif

Another warning for Mon/Tuesday. As another westerly front bashes up to the cold air.

But its the same risk, will it or wont it reach the East Anglia coast,. Most coast line fail to get the Monday snow event.

Another thing is strong south easterly winds will hold up the fronts progress this also applies to Mondays event. and a south easterly will be a dryer wind...still hoping

I've just looked at the updating GFS too. Not as bad as I feared. Yes it may well be marginal, but it definitely doesn't look like it's a transition to milder weather, which was my fear.

That 'blob' is lurking off the Norfolk/Suffolk coast. It's breaking up though I think. I'm still learning how to interpret maps and charts so if I talk rot..do excuse me. :)

As others have mentioned this is the 2nd time the GFS has indicated further snow on Sunday.

Some pics just taken outside, don't know actual temp as my thermometer broke. :-(

Looking at those photos, your temperature is currently -5.2C.

Possibly -5.1C.

Morning all. The mini temp here got to -4.5c last night. Still looking very wintery outside and had just started clouding over after the sun tried to make an appearance.

So.....what will luton get over the coming days? Will we see much snowfall as we are west of the region?

Thanks in advance

As people have already suggested this morning, looking at the strength of the SSEly flow overnight:

U24-515.GIF?17-06

We could be looking at some weak convection pushing some snow flurries inland across Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex.

I wonder if the Thames Estuary will throw up a few surprises...

Being in the west of the region, atm, is a favourable position. But that is subject to change of course.

I have done fairly well with snow events in my location over the years. But I am sure we all have those feelings that we'd like to shift our house slightly to the east, then sometimes slightly further north, other times, west a bit when snow is moving in from the different directions it gets progged.

I can't help thinking we ought to consider a Netweather house swap arrangement.

Or just sanctuary's

Wait for the snow to start falling, see where it's looking heaviest, get the snow chains put on the NetWeather executive 50 seater coaches (each seat presumably has a TV screen in the back of the head restraint, showing the latest radar, inter-dispersed with the BBC News 24 forecast every half an hour) round everyone up and get them to the member with the heaviest snow as soon as possible.

So, come on then, who's the secret millionaire amongst us all?

SK

P.S. Hammer - I work up at the Rivers in High Wych, I might be stopping over at your place if I can't make it home tomorrow evening!!

Here is a map of expected precipitation from the Hi Res NMM model (06Z) until 6:00 on Saturday.

Unfortunately not inspiring where I live. Maybe there will be more later on Saturday?
