Every branch big with it,

Bent every twig with it;

Every fork like a white web-foot;

Every street and pavement mute:

Some flakes have lost their way, and grope back upward when

Meeting those meandering down they turn and descend again.

The palings are glued together like a wall,

And there is no waft of wind with the fleecy fall.

A sparrow enters the tree,

Whereon immediately

A snow-lump thrice his own slight size

Descends on him and showers his head and eye

And overturns him,

And near inurns him,

And lights on a nether twig, when its brush

Starts off a volley of other lodging lumps with a rush.

The steps are a blanched slope,

Up which, with feeble hope,

A black cat comes, wide-eyed and thin;

And we take him in.

Thomas Hardy, 1840-1928

Sorry HW, were you in Paul Shermans sweepstake, if so I'll forfeit my position. I'll have a look.

I compiled the draw from entries made in Pauls competition.

Regards,

Tom.

Had my eye on that one for a while it doesn't seem to be moving, perhaps if we threw a net out we might catch it?!

Everything crossed neighour! got my eyes glued to the radar and the other one on the rambling in here!

Do you know if Brighton is included on that ?

It will be if the depression moving North out of France tracks a little to the West but it is (at the moment) predicted to track N to NE. Anywhere from Eastbourne eastwards at the moment is the best spot with East Anglia probably in the bullseye.

Cannot believe how screwed over the Medway Towns has been this year. None of the thunderstorms, boiling heat or snow that we were supposed to beat every other area at!

Let me guess...

The snowy front stalls and never reaches us and fades away...

The next front, which has a warm sector ahead of it, breezes through and gives the east the highest precip totals... of RAIN?

Seriously folks, whats happened to all the whiteout weather maps from yesterday?
