Surrey has earned every right to be talked about in the same breath as John Pike and Steve Murr

He said that the precip would back build and head back west again and looks like he has called it spot on

Bit over the top methinks. Surrey has the enthusiasm sure but..

Fast developing situation, am amazed orange or even red alerts haven't been put out yet for the SE/London/Surrey

What are you on about?

It is still pulling away North. Just slower than progged.

There is no backbuilding into Belgium.

Febuary 2nd 2009

December 18th 2010

And now January 20th 2013 will now be my memory as one of the great snowfalls that London has had!

Been snowing almost all day, in light and haevy falls, snow flakes turning big at times. Parks and even roads in Central London have been coated with beautiful white snow cover, snow sticking to traffic lights and staues with abitter cold -1c windchill!

Still snowing now in Central London very lightly.

We must have recieved up to 10cm of snow so far and its still rising.

Fridays snowfall pales in comparison.

Best Snow Day EVA!!! biggrin.png

There is a line of snow from Belgium that is heading into the UK via a line between Colchester and Norwich, unless I am misreading the radars that stuff seems to be heading straight for London/Surrey, plus the western edge of the front has been back building returning snow to sw London and Epsom area that had previously cleared

Finally coming to an end here in basildon, just the odd flurry now, even though it's been light/mod snow, still has been a good event with over 12 hours of non stop snowfall :D

No it isn't. There have been many many days with a lot more in every part of the country.

The precip is definitely back building and heading west

If that stuff over Belgium arrives down the estuary could well be another 20cm from Kent to west Surrey

In about an hour the region will be in the centre of the low so easterly feed cut off.

He was the only one this afternoon that said that easterlies would blow all the precip from earlier back to London as opposed to push it north, lucky guess maybe but looks like he has nailed it

We are at the top of that - really quite heavy here. Won't last I don't think as the front will pull away but a nice top up to neaten it up before morning.

With regards tomorrow night is this from Thames Streamers or something or the lot potentially coming from the SW?

It is still tracking north, you can see that on the radar. What has happened is that it's stayed in London far longer than expected and by the end of the day the snowfall covered the entire Gtr London area. A cracking day's snow for London.
