Next shower looks very heavy I'm predicting another inch to fall.

If it gets here it might slip east. Will probably hit Newport tho.

Little showers hitting Wales as soon as they reach the coast they explode. Heavy snow again now.

I'm really tired but staying up for a bit. Really heavy bit of precip over the Channel and if it gets to the S.Wales coast it likely to intensify massively and that could give some real heavy snow. Just hope it don't track too far east!

Yep it appears as if it will and the intensity is turning from orange to red as it crosses the channel.

Headline:

Largely dry today. Snow spreading north overnight and through Wednesday.

Today:

A cold day with the risk of some icy stretches. A few showers are likely at first, mainly in the south and west, with these falling as rain at the coast, but snow inland. Otherwise dry with some bright spells. Maximum Temperature 2 °C.

Tonight:

A cold and cloudy night with the chance of some mainly light snow almost anywhere, but particularly in the south and east. Cold with a widespread frost and some ice. Minimum Temperature -2 °C.

Wednesday:

Another cold and largely cloudy day, with the continuing chance of some light snow. However, a mix of rain and sleet is likely across coastal parts of the southwest. Maximum Temperature 2 °C.

Right off to bed. Pretty happy tonight. An inch of snow fallen over the last few hours, going to wake up at 6-7 to see what it's like.

Been throwing it down with snow for three hours now, the wind has also picked up.

A further two inches so far. Very happy.

I suspect you may be right Andy. I don't think it was expected to be this heavy or persistent and people didn't have enough warning, so the rush hour is going to be very tricky in the Valleys.

That mass of weather moving towards southwest England looks tasty.

I think the BBC downplayed the snow for Wales last night using the word showers and only mentioned 'something a little more significant' moving in later on in the afternoon.

Well, I'm in Cwmbran and we've already had over an inch of snow AGAIN and it's going to be treacherous driving today. Snow on top of packed ice isn't a good mix.

I won't be sending my kids to school today looking at the radar and I doubt they'll be going in tomorrow now looking at what's approaching the South coast for later....

I love the BBC but they got it wrong....
