How much was your weather station if you dont mind me asking? Im tempted to get my own, and i know nowadays you can get quite advanced ones which you can connect to the computer with software and get readings etc....

I bought an entry level station at Christmas, 69.99 reduced in sale to 39.99.. Unfortunately they got recalled due to a faulty anemometer ..have to wait till next weekend for a new one

Looks like anywhere in the region could see some snow over the next 24 hours. 850hpa temps between -4 and -7C, dam below 528. just need the precipitation. The further west the better but it looks like the strength of the wind will be enough to blow plenty of showers over the Pennines. Snow showers are forecast even here as far East as the coast.

Warming up slightly overnight tomorrow before attention turns more to the East of the region. May be a bit marginal here on the coast for a while but wintry showers continuing for the rest of the week.

Wrap up warm!

I'm certain there are snow flakes mixed within this torrential shower.

Cetainly unexpected. Didn't really expect it to be a cold enough blast given the direction of the wind.

And the East coast under yellow warnings for Wednesday too.

I think most of W Yorks tends to do well out of these set ups.

With the cold air coming in later, along with an increase in shower activity and subtle change in the wind then tonite could be interesting.

Depends on the frequency and potency of the showers.biggrin.png

Amber Warning for 10-15cms of snow for tonight slap bang over South Yorkshire during a six hour period. That is a pretty impressive snowfall rate. I'll believe it when I see it.

Do Yorkshire have the equivalent of Midlands today weather forecasts? Yorkshire today? If spare they available online?

Just rain showers here so far but the main action is going to come this evening and overnight I feel. I think there's a fair chance of many of us waking up to a covering of snow tomorrow morning, though it won't last long at low levels as the pool of slightly milder air will bring rain showers that will wash it away.

I bet west leeds finally gets more snow than you guys in east leeds tonight blum.gif .

Tonight has otley gap written all over it! As long as it's cold enough for snow (it will be), the showers will just keep rattling through the wharfe valley, they always do with a W or NWW flow! smile.png

Temp 3.6c, DP 0.5c, showers starting to turn more wintry. Give it another hour or two and time to turn back to the radar again

METO have Penistone labelled for heavy snow from midnight to midday Tuesday, 3am to 9am on an amber warning.

The best part is, i'm on nights this week too.

Been having a sleety showers today, its grim out there in that wind.

Very heavy hail shower here at present and very gusty winds. Colder uppers coming in?

Temps dropping slowly but markedly in showers.

Starting to get a bit wintry not too far north looking at the cumbria / durham cams
