Scotland v Estonia fitba match on Wed at Pittodrie might be interesting... whistling.gif

It's sure gonna be pure Baltic for Gordon Strachan's first game in charge. We all hope that the lads will finally play the sort of football that their capable of, and in blizzard conditions too.

Shower on here just now. Nice dry stuff covering the bits of road that were still black.

Typical though on an evening perfect for lamppost watching ours aren't working.

blowing fiercely all day, easing a bit now. started with rain and sleet, then went through hail & graupel to proper flakey stuff for the afternnon, now back to graupel. feeling rather battered, enjoying an evening in the warmth.

Scientists at Lews Castle College UHI have been measuring what they described as "extreme" wave heights in the sea off west Lewis.

Arne Vogler, a senior research engineer and principle investigator at the Hebridean Marine Energy Futures project, said hurricane force gusts had also been recorded.

He said extreme wave heights with averages of 14m (45ft) and maximum waves of 23m (75.5ft) had been recorded.

Been snowing in Ayrshire since dinner time. A covering on everything now. More to come hopefully, before the winds switches round to the north during tomorrow, and the snow threat transfers to northern and eastern areas.

Up until 20 minutes ago it was a lovely clear sky and just happened to see a lovely shooting star. No hope of that now as it is a bit of a white out.

Quite a snowy/blowy evening here about 2 level inches possibly with drifts up to a foot deep in the lea of buildings. Currently -0.6c. Long time since we have had proper drifting snow. Imagine if we had this for 24 hours or so not much would be moving.

Usual non-event here pramthrow.gif

Am obviously hoping for snow for southside of Glasgow and East Ayrshire around Stewarton and nearby villages but I'm praying and praying, promising extreme penance and servitude for all eternity and doing deals with God, Allah, The Pope, the new Arch Bish of Canterbury and even the Free Wee for some of the white stuff to fall on BFT's house to cheer him up so he can use an excited gif thingy instead of flying teddies! I feel a mission coming on....
