Whats happened is the low in the channel has just lifted a tad NE probably like forecast & moved the convergence slightly east-

that does bring milder air NE- or rather slightly more marginal- hence some of the southern contingent seeing rain- however at the moment we are in the snow zone.

S

And I am making the most of that - I love lamp post watching and seeing the snow accumulate biggrin.png

Although not expecting the 5.30am text telling me Mini Raven's school is shut

And we're back to 5p flakes- and with that the 7flakes that did actually settle are already disappearing off the pavement- goodnight. . .

looks to be a bit more to come

It looks like GFS was right all along about the snow in the SE. I really thought they over cooked the snow event.

Certainly the heaviest snow of the winter so far, been snowing continuously since 430. I am a pretty large guy, 6 feet and 15 stone, and my Timberland footprints have disappeared since I got back from the pub an hour and a half ago so we must have had a good 2cm since then.

Buses were still running half an hour ago, but nothing since. Still, Met Office did warn that this could happen tonight. Thankfully I don't have to go out first thing.

Sick of getting Snow off my Car [was in the Leeds Blizzard last week] may get a smaller Car then it won't take so long!!diablo.gif

Ok S.S.,

Will log that for you!

Hows your opponent Jimmyh (Beckenham) doing, any news, only a couple of miles down the road from me

and I think he's got it all to do against you!

Tom

Hi tom

I've forgotten how much I get deducted for my height but hopefully I've got enough!

Still snowing nicely I'll give my final total in the morning

Edit: no I've not heard from jimmy btw

Same for Car tyres that came in earlier. I feel like going for a walk in it but am way to knackered. Heavy night last night too. Ouch.

It's not the night before, it's how they look the morning after. Nice and crisp, deep and even, the snow I mean.

I think we've maxed at about 6cm here.

I was about to say - here in upper Chelmsford (62m ASL) just under 2 inches - so makes sense - Danbury always gets a bit more with the higher elevation

We've gone from sleety snow with big old flakes mixed in (not settling as much more than a thin layer of slush), to fog with a little snizzle.

It's odd out there
