we are having an antique Victorian fire place fitted next weekend. Had the chimney sweep around the previous week who gave us the green light to use it. Can't wait.

Right, I'm definitely off now. Have a great spring and summer everyone!!!

God I would love a decent storm. Something to entertain rather than this awful snothing.

Such a good winter for charts. Im sure we all remember those charts for December that fell through. Just a disappointment for actual weather

All a bit sad at the moment, showing lightly for an hour, very little to show for it, 5p flakes maybe at times LOL! Give me back the 1980s when 5p coin size of new 10p and 10p and 50p coins big enough to knock you out. no wonder we had more snow then. Let's hope the charts are right and we see a bit more overnightsmile.png

Bring back 1960s' winters I say. Snowflakes were the size of half-crowns, back when ah were a lud!blum.gif

Feel sorry for those who do not like the cold without snow, you miss out on the beauty of hoar frosts, the worry of fog etc. a very slight covering of individual snow flakes on cars and dust bins.

Just recovering from the social event of the year, yes, last night was the yearly gathering / meal of the institute of refrigeration, you poor people don't realise the immense pleasure of sitting through the president speech on the latest political view on refrigerant / greenhouse gases, followed by some guest idiot of the radio trying to respond with every known cold / food joke thrown in which believe me after attending 35 of these events you know the only half funny joke. So if you want cold and dry with a meal thrown (first time we wasn't served baked Alaska for afters) in then put the third Thursday in February in your diary and I will get you a ticket,

Thanks for sharing your miserableness with us all evening.

Personally, whereas I would prefer snow, I love the fact that we are seeing 3-4 days of the -10ºC 850 isotherm over us. Loving the graupel - it beats murky mild drizzle any day!

I was going to say that looking at the radar, i would have thought this thread whilst maybe not in meltdown would be rattling along, given the fact it contains most members, surely some of that over Kent and Essex must be moderate stuff now.

Evening all. Hope the snow delivers for many of us. Nothing but light flakes here in a bitterly cold, dark Shepperton.

Whats the best radar site to use?

standby.... radar echoes intensifying......

The band seems to be pushing West again aswell, coming further inland down the Suffolk and Essex coast.
