Radar back up at 925 now-

BIG train gradually sinking south CMON!!!

London to receive nothing apart from a few flakes as per my prediction last night.

Its at times like these where you feel like giving up you're hobby of weather watching esp snow.

Morning all :)

The first swirling flakes have finally reached lowland East London. I wasn't expecting much overnight last night but I suspect prospects for my locale will improve as the day goes on. This will be the fifth snowfall of the season which isn't too shabby.

Wind remains very strong and cold - would guesstimate air temperature to be around or just below freezing.

To be fair though, London is always a very difficult place to get snow especially in March.

I got my snow fix a few weeks ago skiing, believe me if you have never been then you will not understand what proper snow and a blizzard really is! At some points you cannot see the end of your skis never mind the other side of the valley! smile.png

My God, this has got to be a 9/10 on the Mr Murrs scale , can't see the other side of the valley , if this keeps up I won't be getting to my job interview

Mr. Jarvis, not out clay-pigeon shooting in this surely! I assume there's a bit of skeet mixed in your snow! doh.gif

I'll get my coat (winter)

Tom.

We've had a few moderate snow showers this morning. Woke up to a slight dusting, only for it to melt.

Snow is very dry, and blowing around as it hits the ground.

Not expecting much here, but I hope others get a pasting in favoured areas.

Based on what? We've only just started a couple of days of potential and with the movement looking quite good, I'm not sure what makes you reach this conclusion just yet?

After 30 mins going nowhere I turned around. The only van coming my way had turned around. Wasn't good up there and was -1ºC at the time.

Is it snowing at gatwick does anyone know. Heading there today before heading on hold tomorrow?

Yes it is, I overlook the Airport and we've got about 2 to 3cm here! Fantastic heavy snow. Intermittent, almost shower like. We are on the Northern extent that I can of the stuff from the Channel, and appear to be getting the showers from the NE.

Bootiful!

Looks like Sussex is the place to be today.

Enjoy all you lucky Sussexonians.

The rest of us will have to scrape as much as we can from any shower trains.
