Hope everyone is having a good good Friday !

Came out the shopping centre in CMK to find it was snowing....only a few small grains and it didn't last long...not sure if that counts as a white Easter or not really unsure.png

One thing I love about cold weather, is that when it does finally warm up, it feels like a heatwave!

Just a little update with the Chicks - 10 hatched out of 18 eggs, not a bad turn out, one batch of eggs was infertile but I guess that's a risk you take getting them off ebay with transport etc!

Afternoon all, looks like the MetO are in defensive mode again, bit of a 'Barbeque Summer' moment last spring when they advised Govt of average to below average rainfall for Apr to Jun 2012 with April looking the driest of the three months and then try to defend it by suggesting it was only a probability forecast???? we could all probably do one of those based on previous statistics!oops.gif

Very nice and sunny Good Friday afternoon, needless to say a bit on the cold side!smile.png

Convection seems to have beefed up a bit? A skinny-dipping Gary would explain the crowds!

Looking at GFS 12Z, very striking how dry this run is, even the slight interest in ppn for Wednesday and the following Saturday have been pushed away south on this run, no sign of any kind of warm up until; deep into FI. See accumulation chart at 192 hrs, virtually nothing showing.

see link to whole GFS12Z run and GFS0.5

UKMO still has a little interest in showers tomorrow but then cold and dry under the influence of high pressure.

Will wait and see what JP can find on the fax charts and but looks pretty cold and dry to me after tomorrow at present.

ECM to come later - will the ppn have reduced on this run too?

Is anyone finding it quiet out? This weather must be impacting a lot of businesses. I was supposed to go pub but too bloody cold to walk 15 mins to station, wait for train and then do the return later. Staying in in the warm. Seems quite a few people doing similar from what I hear businesses must be hurting.

My dad rang up and said what a lovely day it had been… I pointed out that he couldn't have been outside. That wind is still cutting like a knife.

The birds are really starving now, they don't even fly away from the tree when I put out some more bird seed and fat balls for them — they just wait until my back's turned and start eating it again. Poor little things.

I haven't ventured out too much today..........only taking numerous cups of coffee to hubby who was working on a car outside and sticking my head out the back door to call him for lunch, dinner etc!!........ It's been lovely having a lazy day and now we and the kids are just about to settle down for a movie evening huddled round the fire with our drinks and nibbles!! ..........Feels more like Christmas than Easter!!
