Still no snow here in the Chilterns, we had one light dusting last week and nothing but dry and empty clouds since. Was selfishly hoping for one thick dump of snow this winter/spring. Strange that when rain is forecast we always get it but most snow forecasts are no show, no snowacute.gif But the wildlife...and my desperate for fresh grass mares need it to warm up asap.....

Snowing again :) It never carries on for long enough to have any chance of sticking about though.

Just a little update with the Chicks - 10 hatched out of 18 eggs, not a bad turn out, one batch of eggs was infertile but I guess that's a risk you take getting them off ebay with transport etc!

Ed

Aww, two of my bantams have decided to go broody today - too cold, I think, so I'll actively discourage them, though after a few days of having the eggs taken away they tend to go AWOL and come back three weeks later to show off their new family.

I do prefer it when you can sex them at hatching - do you just have the one sex-linked?

ETS sunny morning, black clouds all afternoon but stayed dry. Hit 5C late morning but oddments of snow still lying in the shade.

If you are struggling to understand JP, what he's really trying to say is that it will be Groundhog day :D

HI JP - do you think tomorrow will just be flurries rather than anything more snowy - day out planned and not sure I will bother if more than a few flakes .

Hello from North Pembrokeshire! So far it's v. similar weather here to that back home but with some important differences: (a) it gets dark later; the biggest city is very small and so far away I can't even work out where and what it is (Cork possibly?) which means not only that I am probably lost but that there is no chance of the urban heat island effect; [c] when the sky is clear at night it is really properly clear so you can see Jupiter like it is the Moon (I may be exaggerating just a bit); (d) despite it having been freezing for ages the grass in the long and narrow garden has still managed to grow to a ridiculous degree since last here which means that I am again going to have to try and cut the grass, which at least gives me something to do over the next 9 days; (e) for once in West Wales it doesn't look like it is going to matter that the tumble dryer is broken - ordinarily this would be a matter of great concern.

Anyway, time to throw another sheep on the fire.

I've got a leg of one to roast in the oven on Sunday - but not one of these, look how clever they are to know the date....
