The most stunning crystal clear blue sky right now, shame it took so long to appear though! charts have brought the breakdown back forward a day to Tuesday now, hopefully just a blip.

mine cleared at 1pm, impressive for this area, fully expect the mist tomorrow, even bbc graphics show it rolling in, and they underestimate the Staffs/Shrops mist, they go with the mist on eastern coasts only crap

Lovely afternoon/evening here. You don't need really high temps for it to feel really summery. Clear blue sky's since 2:30.

Nearer 3pm here, yet it burnt off so quick once it started. Really can't fathom why Shropshire suffers this muck time and again, the North Sea is over 100 miles away and land heats up faster than sea. It's almost like it gets stuck against the Welsh hills, but it has no right to be this far west in the first place. Those same Welsh hills also repeatedly fail to block cloud encroaching from the west in summer, giving a double whammy of cloudiness for this area.

Can't help remembering during those glorious days of no aircraft in April 2010, there was one morning if North Sea Muck and the sun nuked it by 10am.

Fingers crossed tomorrow doesn't have the same problem as we've already lost Tuesday to rain and 18z speeds up the breakdown even more.

back to midlands, you are joking? generally dismal here, and cornwall is always sunny, today though the north sea mist only patchy, so as good as cornwall maybe

Does anyone think that the thunderstorms currently ongoing in Dorset/Hampshire will make their way up here?

Probably not..then again they weren't really supposed to have arrived there either. :)

Some tell tale very high level wispy cloud looks pretty...glorious day ahead and it should be the warmest day of the year so far I'd imagine. 23c likely in a few spots, maybe a notch more in others.

An absolute stunner out there again today, totally glorious. Lovely and fresh as well.

We should edge past 20c shortly I should imagine. According to my local weather station - which if anything tends to marginally exaggerate higher temps - we haven't quite made it past 20c since the start of the month, despite all the recent sunshine. Our highest recent max is 19.3c yesterday evening.

There's some alto cumulus and floccus appearing atm.

Perhaps a shower later as instability is increasing?

Any showers look like staying to the south of the Midlands.
