More homegrown activity in the SW with a possibly squall line developing with sferics in the last 15mins. Second note is the blob near the Portsmouth coast could well intensify as it moves north over land. Certainly an active and interesting night to come!

Just after the sun set, it was pitch black to my South.

I am not sure if this is significant but that rain is developing directly along the 12c 850hpa temp line. Maybe this is the leading edge of the plume.

Edit: Tried to post the chart but it is from the V6 radar + overlay so not working.

I would say that's the warm front coming over - those cells are looking pretty good now, but moving north quickly - looks like a light show about to start in the SW too!

I think its to do with this CB which on the SatRep model shows it just missing the SE:

Diane Oxberry, what a complete joke on BBC Northwest just now. Someone at the BBC should check her credentials again to make sure she's actually qualified in what she's doing.

'average temps' despite mentioning that the temps will shoot up into the high 20s, and 'relatively quiet' before mentioning a shower or two. Anyone here on netweather want to replace this joke of a weather presenter?

Clouds over Verwood aren't *that* threatening. I took a picture to prove it.

What is that in the top right third of the pic BS.

they look like hat here too - the accas to the north is all trying to convect, so I think a whole line from the SW to north of Reading and onwards might start popping up. lets hope so!

Positively orgasmic forecast from John Hammond just now - even cracked out the lightning globe to end his forecast. Wednesday night into Thursday looking especially promising across the SE quadrant of the UK :D possibility of some cells around here tomorrow afternoon.

Time to wait and see...off to bed for me shortly!!

Yep. :( I seem to get a bit of that with long exposures at certain angles.

The cell near Exeter should eventually make it's way between Cardiff and Swansea. 2 very small showers a little further east near Wells, may develop and head to us Bristolians!

Nice cell there to the NE of Exeter moving my way! Posted Image That blob of rain is indeed intensifying, too far for my location but places around Reading should keep there eyes on the radar and follow this development!

A nice line developing around Milton Keynes currently, a shame I didn't pack the bags and head down there as planned earlier on this afternoon however its very early days and the cells (if they continue to develop) will advect ever NNW'wards into the southern Pennines by the early hours.
