Morning folks,

Two pics so you can see what a mean; a "good" pane, and the shattered one right below it. Anyone with a better knowledge of science than me know why this might have happened?

Morning!

Not sure what has happened there. Could be distortion of the door structure, someone slamming it too hard but unlikely to be heat differential unless it was really cold outside and really hot inside.

Or maybe it was...

The strange thing is it has happened on the side of the porch. It's not even the door. And, as you say, there was hardly a massive indoor/outside temperature differential last night.

So, yep, I'm thinking "they're heeeere"!

Here we go, the media are on to it!

Sizzling sun to return for the Bank Holiday: Temperatures to hit 27C next week

Drizzle and cloud forecast to feature from Monday to Wednesday Warmest weather is not expected until later in the week

Met Office forecaster Mark Wilson said: ‘It’s a long way off, but it looks like the finer weather could stick around after the Bank Holiday with the best weather in the South-East, but a more unsettled outlook in the North-West.’ The predicted sunshine will be good news to those hoping to attend Notting Hill Carnival.

Last week's wet and windy weather is to be replaced with sunshine and temperatures of up to 80F (27C) by the Bank Holiday weekend, forecasters said.

The Met Office said the mercury will increase over the course of the week – reaching a peak in the South East by Saturday.
Forecasters said the return of the sunshine could mean a hotter than average Bank Holiday weekend, although there is still "a lot of uncertainty" with a mixture of sunshine and showers expected in some areas. The Met Office said Monday and Tuesday would see a mixture of cloud and sunshine and mild temperatures.

But as the week goes on more sun is expected, with temperatures set to reach 78.8F (26C) by Wednesday and to rise to 80F (27C) by Friday. Mr Wilson warned of a South East – North West divide, with more showers and cloud predicted for the north throughout the week.

Afternoon all,

Just back at the hotel after a morning shopping - it's mid 30s here so it's cocktails by the pool this afternoon - hopefully I will be returning to warm sunshine at the weekend to keep my tan topped up !

Evening all.

Well it was back to the orifice today for the normal daily grind to earn a shilling *sigh*

Turned out warm again, thankfully that wind has finally abated some.  21.7oC in the shed right now, sunny and dry.

Evening everyone. :) Yet another pleasant day here.

Why do I get the feeling that the Bank Holiday is going to go down the pan though, weatherwise? Maybe because it happens so often with the August one. :(

I'd move this one to early August, scrap the early May one and add another in October if I had my way.

Evening Steve,

That would have my vote as at the start of the year they all come at once just like busses and then after the August Bank holiday we have to wait all the way to Christmas, how about the Halloween Bank HolidayPosted Image

Posted Image

thursday

a variable flow but not noticeable

temps again around 23-24 degrees

at present these show some heavy showers during the day

Blimey, it's been brown bread in here recently - where is everyone? I'm missing the banter!

And to keep on topic, it's dark outside

Sorry been distracted. I've kind of felt deflated as for a while the models were hinting at a potentially hot and sunny bank holiday. Looking likely to not be the case now. Well we still had July, well except for the days with persistent low cloud Posted Image

A gorgeous cool start to the day here in Sussex, with some bright sunshine peeping through the Cirrocumulus. Looks like a good week still on the cards:

The threat of a thunder storm at the weekend is receding a little at the moment.
