Oooh! It's just like someone flicked a switch. It's gone quiet all of a sudden. Weird!

wind has subsided a little and now i can hear its raining quite hard, rain must be coming from a different direction to usual as i'd usually hear it against the window in front here, but i can hear dripping to the side now.

Really quite scary out there . My big ceramic plant pot which is filled with earth & stones & plants has blown over ,it's never done that before ! I can hear things smashing around & the rain is relentless . I hope everyone else is ok x

Its windy but its not that bad just up the road here - the St Jude storm was a fair bit more significant than thisPosted Image

Very wet and windy night here; husband insisted we were hearing thunder until he realised it was the wind bumping around the house. Even at 5 driving down the M25 the car was being buffeted. Sounds like it's coming down heavily again now; dog refused his walk thankfully.

It blew up relatively suddenly and rained like buggery for about an hour here from some time after 7, with wind gusts that blew rain about 2 feet inside the open window (before I realised and shut it). It's been all quiet for a couple of hours now, though.

Southernman just came in and explained that the rain is blowing horizontally across the window not straight onto it which is why i didn't hear it.He drove through it and said it was really bad.

this is whats happening in other parts of the country with this storm.

Greetings from tennerife all. I found a quiet moment sitting on the balcony with my friend Mr Daniels so thought I'd say hi. Sounds like you lot have lovely weather. Imby it's around 18 at the moment and tomorrow is expected to be 26, horrible but sometimes you have to take one for the team.

Clear as a bell here now, with the Moon and Jupiter painting a very pretty picture high in the eastern sky.

Had some moderate wind earlier and quite a bit of rain, pretty much all gone now? I thought it was meant to be picking up again after midnight?

Temperature is also picking up, now 8.6c

Pressure: 985.6hPa

Still overcast here with a slight breeze
