Looks like a decent show in the end...to the W of Shrewsbury. So to sum up, storms over the Mids, brief lull then they increase further west. Gotta laugh Posted Image

Welshpool got hit twice, Birmingham, Stoke, Crewe.... what is it with Shrewsbury and Telford and storms? It's even worse than the snow shield.

Looking close that last lot might have been as close as Alberbury/Halfway House on its east edge, really taking "Avoid Shropshire" to the limits.

Someone mentioned Faraday cage earlier? Oh well always next time, probably dry is best til any possible hosepipe bans anyway lol.Warmer still tomorrow and Sunday best look on the bright side.

Dry is fine as long as it's clear and sunny- we miss all the storms but do we miss the cloud? Do we heck. Must be the cloudiest rain shadow on earth (except for possibly around Aberdeen)

NMM model going for some pretty high cape values on Monday afternoon/evening. Infact some very high figures for relatively early Spring imo! Does have a plume feel to it this albeit not in the sense of heat but in the sense of warm sunny days and the risk of late afternoon/evening thunderstorms. :)

And the wind direction is perfect for the Midlands, especially the West Midlands in particular. :)

Glorious hazy sunshine now after the murky start, 12.2c atm, thank goodness the outlook maintains mild/warm temperature's for the forseeable future, a nice change from this time last year.

Well,Well,Well!!! Haven't we got off to a flying start in terms of storms, Yesterday's thunderstorm was a gooden, heavy rain/hail/lightning/and yes, plenty of KabooomsPosted ImagePosted Image

Except for one thing, while most of you was enjoying the show, I was at the Birmingham Tax Office...... Stuck in an office, Four walls scenario !!!!!

I could hear pleaty but couldn't see bugger all and by the time my appointment was over, the show was over..... Ahhhhhh Posted Image

Oh well lets see what monday may bring? Hopefully another direct hit Posted Image

But before all that, let's enjoy this lovely warm plume for next couple of days Posted ImageCurrently 14c with hazy SunshinePosted Image

Very sunny indeed. None of this weather seems to be raiding the Midlands today. ;-D

(Edit: I think saying 'very sunny' earlier on was a bit of a exaggeration to be honest considering the skies did have a bit of a milky look to them).

That haze was a real pain today, I suspect much of it was actually aircraft smog. It did clear a bit here but returned before dusk. Over in Wales though it was much thicker and the sun could barely shine- all due to planes. We got to 17C but it should have been 19-20 if the sun had been allowed to shine properly.

Pretty much the same here, Haze to Clearish then back to Haze... Hopefully tomorrow will be better, 19-20 with more of that sun, it could be achievedPosted Image

No sign of promised sun so far- grey as slate.

Same here :( , thick overcast skies this morning and very poor visibility/air quality to boot, very disappointing.

From the look of the satellite the cloud just keeps exploding into life as it hits the West Midlands, my own fault for saying the sun shield was a few days from powering up  started early this year.

Sun has been attempting to come through for an hour or so, but just can't manage it .Very like those days during the last supposed-to-be-nice spell where we got that infuriating murk and fog.

Unlucky you lot. Some haze here but the sun almost constantly out and 19c. Less wind than yesterday thus feeling even warmer. Brilliant day :D

Blizzy..Think you've hit the nail on the head... We had more wind/breeze yesterday inwhich i think may of helped clear the cloud..

Thats the pain here! oooooh! what's that a ray of sunshine... not for long back in again... atm we are the loooosers Posted Image
