Well it did not show anything for us but did for Wales.

Sadly think everyone in here will be disappointed tomorrow. The uppers look ok ish at times but dewpoints just wont allow it.

The DAM values are far too high also. Nearly 546!!! No where near 528 or at least about 534 for anything remotely possible near snow for the majority of us.

Snowsie

have a good journey home.

Its still interesting here.

The wind is slowly picking up now 3mph now from the ESE. Temperature is now falling 2.7C with the dewpoint also falling to 0.4C.

BBC are showig more substantial rain for this morning so it may turn to sleet.

Always hopeful

On way now and just coming to the bottom of the hill by Matlock and the snow had turned to rain/sleety mix.

Still flakes at moor when we left at 9.30

Netweather V6 radar is showing sleet over most of the Peak District and snow for the very highest parts. I think you would need to be over about 1000ft to see proper snow today, although any heavier precipitation could bring this level down temporarily. Somewhere like Buxton and surrounding hills probably best chance - A57 Snake Pass always a good bet for snow if you can get there.

MIA are your dew point readings definitely right? Almost all stations in the area seem to be closer to 3c rather than 0c. :(

Only a little sleet in any heavy bursts.. Doesn't help when trying to cut a massive chestnut tree down!

Costa De Fal,

Dancer with Wings queried it also yesterday pm.

I checked it out on the above yesterday (supplied by Daniel) and it looked spot on.

At that time I showed a temp of about 3C with a relative humidity of about 63% and a dew point of -1.6C.

Today (now ) i am showing a temperature of 2.8C with a rel humidity of 85%. The dew point is showing as 0.5C.

That looks about correct from the checker given to me above.

However, it looks to me as if the dew point is calculated from the temp and rel humidity, so how do THEY compare MAY be a better question. I have always been slightly lower (0.1 - 0.2C) than Bish and DWW in my area, but I have put that down to the fact that I am slightly higher (10meters) than them AND that I am in a slight valley. (perhaps 3meters on one side and 1 meter on the other within 50 to 150 meteers), so i had assumed that was the explanation.

I do know that when returning from a journey in the car the car thermometer frequently drops by 0.5C when approaching my drive so it may be a local valley effect..

However would 0.1 - 0.2C temp effect affect the dew point (if calculated) that much?

Never seen a sentence with effect and affect next to each other before!! Hope I have them the correct way round.

Costa

A more recent update....

The temperature and Rel Humidity have just gone  up to 3.0C and 89% respectively.

The small change has resulted in the dew point rocketing up to 1.4C (from 0.5C 10 minutes ago). So if a problem, it may well be a rel humidity problem.

How does 89% Rel humidity compare this morning around the Central Midlands?

MIA

PS Moderate to heavy burst of rain moving thru now.

Light wet snow earlier this morning is now sleet, the air temperature has hardly moved so it must be slightly higher uppers. Some heavier precipitation out to the west so there may be some wet snow here later.

Ugh, what a dreary day. Zero chance of snow here, just rain, rain, rain.

Looking at the webcams across the region, even Buxton is a snow-free zone right now.

Temp currently 4.6°C with a Dp of 3.9°C

Bish

Thanks for your post below

My temp is now 3.4C and the rel hum is 90% with dew point of 1.9C

I had to change the batteries last week in my outdoor  recorder. I am now wondering whether  I have allowed moisture to get into the temp recording probe and it is giving me a mx of temperature and dewpoint reading as my actual temperatrure.

I am not certain that we should have a 1.2C difference in actual temps between Knowle and Solihull!

I will check it out.
