My eyes may have deceived me. It looked like sleet in Glasgow when I was out at lunchtime!

Temp dropped from 8.5c to 6c in the showers.

Wonder if we'll see some Snow soon. Meto forecast going for some light accumulations on the hills tonight and BBC graphics looked quite snowy for Sunday with the front moving in.

Yesterday horizontal rain and mini hooley, very mild at 12.4c. Today freezin', hail, sleet, rain, sun, temp struggled up to 4.5c. Gauny bee a bit breezy next week by all accounts, interesting end to February then!

A mild day at 9.8c and fairly sunny late afternoon.

It does look wintery for a fair few of you in the coming days so fingers crossed for some of you who haven't seen anything yet but it does look like the usual suspects (for this winter anyway) will benefit more than others...

Morning all,

Currently +1.2c which is the overnight low. Should be another decent day in NE Fife. Managed 6 hours of sun and 9.5c yesterday.

Been a very dry month to date, just 8mm of rainfall at Leuchars, temps running +0.7c above average.

Sunny and feeling respectable temp wise. A little cooler that 24 hours ago at 5.4c but rising...

Yep, we've been expecting the weather warnings, but interesting to see 4 days worth.

With the mildest part of the mild sector on Sunday having been gradually 'unmilded' over the last couple of days, some big snowfalls are now possible over the hills. ECM had over 100cm in its 10 dayer for Lochaber yesterday. When MWIS ran their forecasts Weds and yesterday, I did raise an eyebrow at their very bullish forecast for heavy rain at 4 degrees around 900 metres when all model output suggested otherwise.

Met Office have several yellow warnings out for snow.

I've been learning about how the MO warnings are put together, blog and new thread to discuss Met Office severe weather warnings

Has caused lively discussion previously

Hi all,

Been away in South Africa all of last year, seen weird weird weather....like hail stones that will put you to sleep!!

I so missed Sco and now work all over the highlands. applecross was crazy with snow and over to lecht ski center which has had a lot of the white stuff....heaving with tourists.  All snow receeding now though so here is hoping for the weekend.

Good to be back in the fresh air and hope to post again soon.

Had a brief snow shower earlier, very big flakes. This was after usual rain showeres all day. Checked radar looks like frequent showers coming in from NW but they're very small so not expecting anything to lie.

Had a wee snow shower this morning, followed by sleet and it's freezing! More showers this weekend by the look of things but not enough to worry about.

What's all this chat about showers of sleety snow? Nowt here. The only thing there is to get excited about is the gorgeous moon and very bright Venus quite close together in the west. If you've not got cloud take a wee trip outside and have a look. It's beautiful.
