sunny but quite breezy this morning, only had the odd hail or light snow shower over the last week or so, just a bit on the hills, but today there are 7 or 8 ships sheltering off Douglas so expecting a good 'blow' later

abt +6c, N 17mph gusting 30mph 995 /^

Just saw that but from where is snow coming from?

Other areas will be largely dry until a more organised area of light snow moves southwards during the early hours of Sunday morning. Accumulations of 1-2 cm are possible, with perhaps 5 cm on some high ground, mainly in the north and west. Icy patches are likely.

I think the BBC forecast will update its graphics this afternoon. I could be wrong, hopefully I'm right. We'll see.

Would'nt expect much Tuesday night myself - i think experience is teaching me now that we 'just don't get snow.

And getting excited for the potential of a cm is just ridiculous in my opinion.

A lovely sunny day so far here, with the fells sparkling in white splendour. Despite max so far of 4.3 degrees it feels sub zero thanks to the icy keen NW wind. Chance we might get a dusting overnight. Its quite notable how most of the precipitation we have had since the 14 Jan has been of a wintry flavour rather than plain rain, with a mix of wet heavy snow, fluffy white dry snow, sleet, hail and graupel. The outlook looks a predominantly dry one, not unusual for Feb to mark the start of drier conditions in the Lake District, it can be a very dry month here, and in many years has been the driest month of the year. Conditions for winter walking etc look ideal over the next few days, especially as winds look like dying down, a skiers paradise..

Had good covering of snow last night. Mostly on high ground. Dusting on cars in our village. Topped up whats left from tues/wed. Winds are picking up a little but mostly mild and sunny. Not expecting anything now even though we have warnings for snow/sleet.
