just had a very light snow sleet shower temp now 2.6 c could have been more hail but it was very brief ,radar now beefing up out to our west /n west . :cold:

Hi Legritter, just seen your location, I went to Sidcot school did my ALevels 96-97 remember using trays from the canteen to sledge down the fields after heavy snow can't remember when exactly think it was winter 96. Remember there was always tension between people from the vill (winscombe) who used to fire fireworks at the school on bonfire night hahaha...those were the days!!

To be expected at the moment, for low lying areas the best chance will be later on tonight, into the early hours.

Iv had my first snow shower very brief affair , but certainly more showers around than I thought there would be ? There meant to intensify during the night aren't they ?

Certainly can't rule a covering out in one or two locations , looks like the Midlands area are gonna get in the action tonight with the infamous 'Cheshire gap streamer ' working its magic ! I used to love them days when I was a kid near brum , me and my bro use to look forward to northwestelies as its delivered some large snow falls in the past .

Certainly been a good old fashioned winter this one , been a long time since we had snowy northwestelies .

Radar watching at its best !

It hasnt been that "old fashioned" - i would've seen 3 or 4 days of lying snow by now if it was, even if they were only a dusting or an inch or two.

And i definitely would've experienced a number of falling snow days.

Yes to be fair 3 - 4 days in December then a week in jan of lying snow is normal for upland areas so 2 slim days are below par currently. maybe we can make up for it in next 3 weeks?

Another shower showing on radar.... I don't mind if I do thanks :D

Khodds looks like a more direct hit for you again...

Well the showers are turning increasingly wintry with some snow at all levels away from the coast. Clear to see on the radar.

Temp of 1.6c here. Clear Spells, Dewpoint of -2c.

Keep us updated Mark! You are my human Weather station :D haha.

I don't have a scooby doo what the temp or D.P is here without your updates. I can guess by looking om Xcweather but the nearest station is about 8 miles away.

Seems to have been a slight shift to a more W flow rather than WNW on the radar over the last hour or so, mind you my eyes are going a bit funny with all this radar oggling.

Still showers coming in, might even stay up a bit later tonight and pray that the first flake of winter arrives. :D

IMO, this is a sound but simple post from the MOD thread covering the next three to four days of action.  :)
