Nice met office update for showers to turn increasingly to sleet, snow and hail as the day goes on, already had a report from a mate near Bath a little while ago to report heavy snizzle lol.

Also had snow/snizzle up at the Uni in Bath...

Wind has just roared up here from the NW. Had some sleet this morning but otherwise nothing else much. Later this weekend and early next week is looking interesting.

Not much going on in Swindon at the moment, looks nice and sunny outside. Back in Bristol for a bout 6pm tonight so that'll be fun passing through J18 M4 if anything has fallen.

Sunday/Monday onwards remains my main interest.

Not optimistic for much more than a wintry mix for a lot of us over the next 48hrs, unless you have a good bit of elevation on your side when it could be more interesting.

There might be snow forecast over the next 7 days, but temps are never near freezing during the day. Not good for lying snow.

It's tough to get lying snow here during an Easterly. lol! So, being under the warning is a bonus, even if I get zilch!

Have a feeling we are all going to get snow at some stage before the cold period is out the way.

Looking at the radar looks as if there should be sleet over the Mendips at the moment

Edit: Looking the same for Exmoor and Dartmoor, lowland Devon and Cornwall it looks like rain.

Lots of precipitation over the midlands, hope we wet some here

Monday still looking a little dodgy for us IMO , that Warm sector goes right over our area during the event , So we nee to hope that as the low moves SE it pushes the precipitation back West later ... At the minute , Id say Snow to Rain and then back to Snow , but any further Northward movement of the low and it could be Rain from the start . In situations like this the track of the low is very important , too far South and you lose the precipitation , to far North and its rain for the SW . We could also do with initial precipitation beating the Warmer air .

All in all , i'd say 50% of seeing anything significant .

I'm hoping if these showers can organise themselves into more organised bands, then maybe we might see a bit of snow from them.

The stuff over Wales has caught my eye, might be to close to the coast for me to see snow, but high up and further in land could do well later.

Ok, Now i`m bemused!!!

Warnings out all over the place on several days on M.O

BUT BBC Alex Deakin, showing temps of 7 most of the time for us?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/31041542

How come with a Northerly wind can we get temps of 7c?

I`m trending more M.O than BBC forecast, i know bbc get the info from M.O but why the vast difference?

Could it be down to a warmer Atlantic this year just gone?
