Too intriguing for my liking. Roll-on spring and let's be done with all this messy stuff. ;-)

I really don't envy you and your work colleges at the moment!

Agree Go Go Go

Although........

1. Will it reach or region or be swallowed up over the Welsh Mountains

2. Will it produce snow if it does reach us

Can you point it out on a radar screen grab for me please? I can't see where you mean? Thanks!

I'm very technically challanged :-) so not sure how to add picture attachments.

But have a look on www.raintoday.co.uk and you can see PPN building up from North Wales pushing south

Hope this helps?

Mmmmmm how is it that everytime snow is predicted 5 days out on the MO and BBC weather apps that when it gets within 3 days the signal disappears. Everytime!

Thanks both! I went for another look, and realised where you meant... Oops. Is it going to make it to our patch I wonder?

My uneducated guess is it will go to our East. Maybe the NE of our region might catch the edge of it.

might be rain mind it's not that cold in swindon using my bare foot on the patio method of temperature measurement. A wholly scientific procedure:-)

My post was very tongue-in-cheek! I'd expect it to swing eastwards even if it made it very far at all.

Edit: like a bad poker player who is down to his final small stack I'm going ALL IN on any sniff I see

from here on in  :yahoo:  (basically: take no notice of me!)

For me it gets to +4 - 6 hours then disappears... like last nights :wallbash:

That trough isn't going to touch us western folk looking at it.

Talking of clear skies. What a beautiful sight to behold this evening when I got home from work. Waxing gibbous moon above Orion in the SE. Jupiter rising to the E. And a fantastically sunny day all day. Who needs weather??

Note how it's curling towards the South East  :wallbash:

LOL

Edit: as this thread also houses some of our brothers and sisters in the South Central England 'zone' then I hope it does indeed keep its intensity down to there.  Good luck to that posse!

Yeah - Danglers into North Devon, Exmoor, Dartmoor and even South Devon and some further east (Mullie's Hill?) all making themselves available to receive the "Wishbone Effect". Let's hope for anything we can get.

Well I can't exactly post them up as they are NW Extra charts anyhow but the overnight showers should largely fade away and will come through overnight in two batches according to the NetWx-SR (formerly the NMM4) 12z outputs. Snow above 100m looks reasonably likely so the Cotswolds, Mendips and Wessex Downs might achieve a slight covering by morning. A pleasant surprise for those with elevation on their side, so often the key to wintry precipitation this Winter. Looking forward to next week's uncertainties too, more especially as my job doesn't depend on it and one can debate over it until the cows come home, them there cows might well have snow on their backs too if things fall right over the next week or so.  :D
