my two sensors at home are having a bit of a dispute today with one currently showing 28.6c with the other at 30c so I'll go straight done the middle and say it's just above 29c here at the moment.

It is however damned uncomfortable as was in work where it was at 32c for much of the afternoon.

I just don't get why folk pray for UK hot weather where the default is usually humid and oppressive.

No thunder here and only a couple of spots of rain to report so far.

Well this is a disappointment, so much potential in the sky this morning, very hot and humid afternoon and we end up with the usual overcast with the odd spot of rain.  Could really do with something to clear this air, it's very oppressive now the wind has dropped.

Feelings much fresher now here... Temps down to 21.6c and humidity is up from 41% earlier to 69% now... Also just had some very light rain

That is a hell of a drop in temperature from where they were earlier.

We're still at 29c with 56% humidity.

Feels like the Caribean out there, just need one of their type of storms now.

Storms dying over Wales now ,freshening breeze too , what a waste of good electricity following this B S weather set up ....

The other side of the Pennines stole our weather just like they do in decent winter set ups.

I see these was a blob of rain over the west half of the M60, but nothing reached the ground here. I think we could see the rain streaks from the clouds.

Amount a minute of the sound of large drops of rain on the conservatory but nothing showing on the radar.

And what has fallen dried instantly on contact with the ground.

What a disappointment, a notable step down from yesterday. Where the hell did all that disgusting cloud come from? Just think how hot it could have got without it. It looked like it was going to be a scorcher when I went out this morning. We could have had hot sunshine or thunderstorms but ended up with neither.

Terrible to see the July record broken down south. Today isn't fit to lick 19th July 2006's boots.

The BBC forecast this morning did say the storms would be isolated, I much prefer the term 'widespread'

A fairly new poster questioned/doubted Paul Sherman's knowledge of storms haha

Yeah feels much better now than I did earlier on... Gutted tho that the predicted weather for this evening did not materialise for the regional

Sky cleared a little now and I can see towers going up to the north. Probably East Cheshire Macclesfield way.

The afternoon was mostly overcast with just a bright few intervals.  Quite a blustery breeze earlier on, easily F3-4, but now calm F0. Might have heard a short shower about 6pm but couldn't be bothered to go to the window to have a look.  My garden sensor reports 25.3C, while Liverpool ATIS is reporting 23C, DP17C, wind 360 6kt.  Quite comfortable in string vest and shorts while shopping, although our shopping mall is air conditioned.  Last night I slept on top of my bed under an open window while the indoor temp. here is 30C

After cloud for much of the day it's mainly clear now.

Still very warm though, 27c unbelievable for after 8pm and certainly very pleasant sat outside on the decking.
