That Warington cell is getting intense!!

The first one has passed over south Warrington now, but there is another approaching from the south, looks like might pass slightly further east instead of overhead. Lots of lightning from different directions at the moment, more impressive now it's getting dark.

Still thundering and lightning, with intermittent rain of very large drops. Roads now saturated with puddles. Current temp. 20.3C

Nothing here as usual...

Looking towards Chester and the colour of the sky, you might be in luck.

Amazing lightning show going on 7 miles to my south west in the Manchester area - no cg strikes just between clouds but very frequent.

Unlike winter when it seems the snow stays to the East of the M6

In summer the thundery activity seems to be more to the west

Of the M6

Loud thunder and lightning with very heavy rain, looks like another cell has come along.

Didn't quite make 30 degrees, nudged up to 28 possibly 29 degrees, but a very humid sultry day with no wind. Lots of cloud and just an odd splash of rain this evening. Lets see if those thundery outbreaks make it this way..

In a way its more impressive watching from a couple miles distance than being right underneath it - wider field of view, it's moving north and it's very eastern flank might just scrape into the Oldham area.... but it will be a near miss I think.
