Had a very quick heavy shower about 4pm now clear. Hopefully the Bedford storm shield gets blown away for tomorrow :D

Can't wait for tomorrow - first real prospect of some convection, let alone a chance of maybe some thunder :D

I must say, looking quite forward for tomorrow. Lincolnshire looking a hotspot again, so I may take a drive up there, even though many places look good for tomorrow's prospects :)

First cumulonimbus of the year here, although a feeble attempt, slinking off into the distance

Mega hailstorm here. Saw a flash of lightning too but hail has covered the garden etc.

My storm forecast for Tuesday, will be just like a cool feeling April showers kind a day with hail and some rumbles of thunder:

I've just been woken up by thunder and there's just been a flash too.

Did an overnight timelapse and caught something odd from 1.11 to 1.16. Clouds moving west to east but there sudden seems a southerly thrust from the clouds. A gust front or outflow boundary?

Was that lightning at 1:36? Everything flashes for a split-second.

Heavy showers been moving through all morning. Yesterday's weather was crazy with the size of hail we had.

For the lazy: Synopsis

Upper trough will drift east across the UK on Tuesday, a slow-moving surface low will be situated to the east of Scotland over the North Sea, with an unstable NWly flow covering the UK, with troughs in the flow.

... EIRE/N IRELAND, ENGLAND, WALES & S SCOTLAND ...

Cold mid-level temperatures (-25 to -35C at 500mb) will overspread the UK in association with upper trough, creating steep lapse rates with surface heating and supporting a broad swathe of showers/thunderstorms across much of the UK on Tuesday. Weak wind shear, cool temperatures and dew points of only 4-6C creating a large temp - dew point spread will mean severe weather is unlikely. However, steep lapse rates and cold temps aloft will support the generation of hail and gusty winds with stronger cells.

My view: I recall NMM4 had up to 600j/kg CAPE with 0 - -4 LI for much of the shaded area for the majority of the daytime, so I'm looking forward to some excited posts on here!

Tenner says that Lincs gets a flipping supercell and nowhere else gets touched, though.

Shame there wasn't any thunder here yesterday evening, though I think I saw the culprit clouds over Bristol.

Have had a few showers early this morning but mainly just good views of cbs running to the south.

Looked like we would be getting a constant stream of heavy showers all day but they missing and it possible it might stay dry

I can see a downpour to my SW, shower looks deep enough to support the odd rumble as it heads on by to my south
