After a cloudy start it's a beautiful sunny afternoon, although quite breezy. Temperature up to 19.5C this afternoon.

Really enjoyed working in the garden today. Chain sawed up and split the cherry tree donated to me during the winter. That's in the wood store now, ready to keep me warm during the exceptionally cold and snowy winter we'll get next year.

Here we go again! National forecast versus local Look East forecast. How can they end up with such a big difference for the max temp for today when we are only 6 or 7 hours away? The Look East 'take' is a big downgrade on expectations, IF they are correct. We'll see in a very short time!

A lot of high cloud here to start, this needs to shift quickly if we are going to see some decent temperatures.

The sun came out properly mid-morning. Up to 21C now with some fair weather cloud around.

Only got up to 18 here, and had a see mist most of the day.

Made it to 22C here, par for the course across the region, there was probably a 23C somewhere.

Cooler again from tomorrow, though high teens should be manageable for tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday.

Thursday looks dire though with an inch of rain possible going by the models.

It has been quite cloudy here for most of the day, but it felt warm in sunshine, and quite humid,

Reached a smidge over 22C here. With regard my earlier post about 'national versus local' forecasts from this morning and comparing them with the various temps reported from around the Region, I think the fairest result is to declare a nil nil draw. Local was too pessimistic and national too optimistic.

Grey start here and a mild feeling 12.8C at 08.00. Rainfall radar showing the rain band advancing towards us. Already raining in Norfolk. Looks like an hour or two of light patchy rain to come later this morning.

Another horrible wet morning in Cambridgeshire, rain persistent and becoming quite heavy. Very disappointing weather since the last week of April

Back to cloudy skies again this morning, that said it is dry here.

The front fizzled rapidly this morning, particularly to its South. I did get an hour or so of light, patchy rain, but the sun was out again by 11.00.

I didn't get home from work early enough to capture an earlier Radar image, but here's the Met Office Radar for 11.30 this morning (with the rain band by now just off the Region's coastline and over the North Sea) and you can see why Harps posted that the rain was persistent & turning heavier in Cambridgeshire and why alexisj9 (Kent) and Surrey (Surrey!) reported no rain.

Anyone else already getting a mixture of fed up and painfully excited about the talk of next winter due to Nino?

This has to be the most benign/uninteresting year of weather I can remember so far. Endlessly dull.

I was surprised we didn't have more of a typical, crazy weather April, i must say. i normally quite enjoy its unpredictability.

Beware the dry warn April. Wet summers have often followed. Not always!!! but often.
