Yep, so far very disappointing for our "best day" of the Bank Holiday weekend. Coolish too at 16C. But I've just spotted some blue sky to my north and checking the cloud cover sequence the clearance is moving south and hopefully most of the Region will brighten up before it gets dark!

The brightening up process has been slow and hard work, but it has finally resulted in some blue sky and sunshine here. 16C.

Yep same here, been cloudy all day with drizzle at times, still cloudy here though, not brightening up at all. High of 13.9

The brighter sunnier bits have arrived for an hour or so.

However still not much over 13c.

Not that hopeful, maybe a few heavy showers could break out, thunder looks unlikely though to be honest.

A few spots of rain outside now, though it is still bright with the sun making it through the high level cloud. 20C

In Norfolk for the week - last night's forecast for today said any rain will be in the far west and sure enough I wake up to rain and the radar shows there are further blobs in the south and east and no rain over the south-west and Wales, exactly the opposite of what was forecast. It really is basic stuff.

Mild(ish) day here, some spots of rain, nothing much and cloud, lots and lots of it.

A few bright spells and glimpses of the sun this morning, but a very disappointing afternoon with lots of cloud streaming down from the NW. Feeling cool too at 14.2C.

The clear skies currently over northern England and southern Scotland will arrive in our patch overnight, so turning chilly by morning.

The morning was okay, but the afternoon was pretty dire and overcast.

#Don't believe the hype about PM north westerlies.

What a fabulous start to the day! Not a cloud in the sky here at 08.15. Temperature responding to the sunshine, up from 9C at 06.30 to 12.4C now. Shame the cloud will return to spoil things later.

Keeping a watch on Friday afternoon, could be some heavy showers and a few rumbles of thunder about.

Rinse and repeat comes to mind with todays weather, a bright start only for the cloud to build and spread out giving cloudy skies.

Hopefully the trend for high pressure to build next week comes to fruition.

Another sunny but chilly start to the day with an overnight low of 5.5C. Hopefully there will be more sunshine around today than of late. Certainly the SE corner looks favoured for the best of the sunshine, before the cloud preceding this evening's/overnight rainfall sets in.

Friday looking an interesting day, with a spell of moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds and an outside chance of a rumble of thunder.

Nice to hear Carol mentioning the weather settling down and turning warmer late next week. About time, I want some warmth now!!

Yesterday ended up better than expected with some sunny intervals throughout the day, a high of 17C.

Another bright start today, overall this month has been pretty meh, mainly due to the persistent west/north west flow. There have been many acceptable days though.

Nice day here up until a few hours ago, now overcast, breezy and cool with rain on the way later, sums up the month really, a brief tease of summer before a quick return to the omnipresent autumnal weather we've had for the past 8 months

20C hit widely across Essex and the London area. Southend top at 21C.

High cloud is now pushing in turning the sunshine hazy, but otherwise it has been a lovely sunny day.

Hubs was out in the garden and caught the sun, but as usual it is windy as hell and that wind is chilly. Cloudy now looking like rain.
