This is a good 3-4c higher than both the GFS and ECM expected, and the predicted maximums tomorrow are around 33-34c...

A maximum of 26.9C here, which means its the warmest day since 24th July 2012 and only 7 days have had higher maxima since August 2006.

The sea breeze has kicked in now, so its a little more pleasant at 24.9C and 54% humidity.

29c now at Blackpool. Joint 3rd hottest spot in the UK. Jersey seems to be holding the top spot. The intense heat seems to be west of the Meridian. Gravesend to miss out this time as top hot dog.

Yes, we're only at 28C here at the moment. Feels weird to not be among the top temperatures on a hot day like this.

You will probably score highest later this week. A bit of a longer sea track on that SEly you have there keeping temps a wee bit lower.

Horrid in the sun, had to walk back from an interview.

Suprisingly good in the shade as there's a breeze.

28C.

What did you want to do then...fly back? You're right enough though: humid, hot weather has its problems. :D

In the space of 24 hours much of the country has been plunged into deepest warmest summer, quite a shock to the system especially in the north which has seen little in the way of any warm weather so far this year.

Its akin to a short sharp arctic outburst appearing from nowhere after a lengthy mild period, a similar sharp shock and rude awakening.. no time to adjust.

Caught 3 buses today - 3:50 PM, 5PM and 23:00PM. The first two were so hot I had to get off early and walk! maxed out at about 28C here today according to the official station, though, my own station recorded 31C
