Intense training cells over the strong convergence zone offshore Perpignan, FRA. Tornadoes possible!

Been watching that. I have friends down there whoI might call later. Look on the Meteociel observations, people reporting almost all day storms with little or no rain. I've had crazy storms down there - the best was an elevated, spider's web sort that just crawled lightning across the sky for hours with no rain or thunder - elevated bliss!

Meanwhile, I need to put the lights on to keep working. Hailstorm, distant thunder, acrylic porch roof making it sound like a bombardment.

EDIT: Holey moley, the road is bloomin' flowing. Glad I didn't set out anywhere.

If there are no storms then I hope at least it will be dry in the early AM for a few hours so I can get some decent training in on the bike (road bike / cycling), just looks cloudy tomorrow.

In the meantime it is really warm and muggy now, got two fans on but its not really helping, could do with AC!

There is quite alot of cloud over central southern England just producing light rain, I think it would be a help if this moved away. It's 19.5°C here but 26°C in Cambridge and that's only an hour down the road.

I'll never forget that storm.  I was 8 years' old and at school and as you say all hell broke loose.  Lightning everyway - struck the school playground and a house opposite the school.  Just before it went crazy the teacher said, "Don't worry children, it's not going to get any closer"!  What a storm!

Cliffy - please could you post a link to your post about this storm - I'd love to read it.

EDIT: Come to think of it, the storm I'm thinking of was 1982.

here ya go bud..

Heavy rain for the last 20 minutes or so, temp has dropped from 22.5 to 17.5... and with it I guess is the end of any chance of storms, unless the cloud goes. Please say I'm wrong.

You might be wrong.  Turned much more humid and brighter (bordering on sunny) back in Brighton.

Great! :D

I think its a little fresher in Worthing, 12 miles west. Still overcast, but it does look brighter to the south. So who knows. I guess only time will tell.
