Load of poo as usual, with sst's cool no chance of surface storms not even elevated storms coupled with temp's that have not maxed out for most.........diabolical !!

Yep, just leftover clag from French storms. Drizzling here now!

Can see towers for storm north of me that produced a few flashes near Petworth.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in South Ockendon. it certainly feels ready to go bang here, and apparently there are rumbles in Basildon.

Canvey here. Rain and some nice distant rumbles now. Does feel like it's skirting past us though.

Looking at my other half's house (she's in Bramley near Guildford) Looks like there's storms brewing not far away from her. Send them 400 miles up north please ;)

Seems to be passing to the East.

Blows away the theory that these storms are moving NW, more like NNW or N and backbuilding as they develop.

right. lots of meto bashing in here. i didnt see the forecast which said "epic thunderstorms for everyone-guaranteed!"

i did however, see the words "isolated" "scattered" "uncertainty" "may develop" "risk of" "potential" "very localised" "rain" "torrential downpours" "afternoon" "until midnight"

and hey, guess what? thats whats happening!.....

(and 2 rumbles near me just now)

Lots of cells firing up and heading for London, not many sferics on them but they are developing nicely.

Also some development up here North of Leicester

Yep. 500hpa winds steering them more northerly the further up the country they travel from the midlands eastward anyway.

Activity has died out in the South East, only the odd strike as the storm moves NW.

Blitzortung's blank for me too, also LightningMaps keeps 502'ing today too.

Update anyway on conditions here, very muggy and also overcast. Haven't seen a break in the sky all day so far, so can't see what's/if something's brewing in the distance.
