After a very hot start, I wonder if July can finish below average.

That would be remarkable!

disagree in a way, only months I want below average are Dec to Mar, but they are the 4 months most likely to be above average

Horrible afternoon turns into a horrible evening.

Role on autumn and the annual Indian summer closely followed by the return of the Azores High and mild damp South Westerly's or as we usually call it, winter.

With the super strong El Nino that's what we can expect. Followed perhaps by a chilly spring.

I'd take a chilly spring if it's a 2013 type of chilly and then followed by a 2013 type summer.

I'd love another 2013 spring!  :D

A woeful late July day, distinctly autumnal despite people wearing shorts and t-shirts trying to instill a sense that it is actually high summer still. Early afternoon temps had fallen to a shockingly low 11 degrees here, under grey leaden wet skies.. we've had many many a milder afternoon in January!

The next 4 days look equally shocking temp wise, not expected to get higher than 14 degrees max, on Tuesday just 12 degrees! max.... terrible, feel sorry for anyone on holiday in the Lakes wanting warm weather..

Its miserable.

Showers are coming to life now in the southern parts of our region.

I expect a few of those to get to Manchester overnight.

It's looking like another awful day today. It's been consistently raining/drizzling since noon yesterday with a temperature of 14C. That is what I call monotony...

Bet we wont get a snow event lasting that long this winter, meantime after the washout given by the METO last night for

here, today has been overcast (but dry) so far, really you could

not make it up.

That's sods law for you unfortuantely. To be honest though, we wouldn't need the temperatures to fall much lower anyway, to give us a snow risk, given how cool it feels out there today.

Another horrible days weather but finally something a bit drier has come through.

Never mind, after tomorrow's forecast of more showers we have a couple of slightly better days coming up although colder.

So the choice this summer is simple......cool and wet or cooler and drier.

Just a shame that hot and dry isn't on the menu.

Maybe next year.
