Hey everyone, not been on in a while, my partner fell 7ft out of attic and cracked a few ribs and did his elbow and shoulder in, i jad to go and stay with parents for 5 weeks, then my little lad unfortunately had two seizures after almost 3 years on medicine doing fine with it, he had an ear infection and raging temp and had put weight on, so his meds werent covering the weight gain and tipped him over the edge...had to get ambulance and an overnight stay in hospital.... Then we had to come home to waych him in the night. So we had to cancel his surgery to have his plates out of his legs....

And now we are going through this stupid water thing, we cant bath our son as hes disabled and drinks the bath water and puts fingers in mouth, been 3 weeks without a bath to soak his muscles as he gets muscle spasms in his legs, but hey at least the weathers good yeah?? Lol i think we are safer drinking rain water!!

What the hell happened to our summer???? At least we go on holiday 4th september for a week, only to filey but still in yorkshire land, so clean water at least!

Just had a very, very, heavy burst of rain here. It is pretty warm out there too.

Damp, miserable, muggy start to the day here although it does seem to be attempting to brighten up a bit.

Then it's all eyes south as the threat of storms increases and heads our way.

For once, our region, along with Yorkshire looks to be very much in the sweet zone and somewhere could get a hammering later in the day.

19c already, humid feel, a few showers about to west and east.... If sun comes out temp should rocket.... Might be warmest day since begining of july....

If not tomorrow should manage it providing the rain stays further south until evening.

Tomorrow's warmth for me is a right bonus considering earlier predictions indicated a very wet day but now it could be a very warm, sunny summers day albeit with quite a gusty wind coming in from the SE.

As regarding the storm potential, its usually a case of wait and see how it develops, compared to yesterday, the front is slightly more further West and is forecast to pivot further West so the potential even for some late evening warmth and perhaps Sunshine(or storms) coming from the South.

Drizzly showers here now.

It seems we have two areas of interest today:

1) home grown downpours this afternoon which can occur anywhere

2) Massive thunderstorms coming from France (they are developing in Brittany as we speak). It looks like western and southwestern parts of our region have more chance to get these as the southeasterly flow starts to develop preventing them from reaching the whole region.

The 6z gfs shows the second area reaching Manchester but that might be optimistic.

Will tomorrow's rain coming from the south have some thunder in it? Probably not but either way today is the interesting day.

Huge contrasts across the region now! Heavy rain just west of Manchester moving north but warm sunny spells here and further east.

Storms are now breaking out in Breast!

We need these to move as north as possible if we are to get the really juicy stuff.

what direction are the steering winds at 850 ha ??.

They are about to change to a southeasterly which is not what we want.

The latest bbc24 weather report with Darren Bett had afternoon storms from the midlands moving into Yorkshire narrowly missing us and then the big storms from France moving into the Midlands but with the southeasterly flow they move into Wales and miss our region!

Let's hope that's not the case as it will be another kick in the teeth for us!
