Thicker high cloud has already moved in here.

According to the gfs precipitation forecasts the rain should reach Manchester by 3pm.

The high cloud is much thicker here. The sun might come out for another hour and then that's it for the day.

Southern midlands are already having rain so the system is on the move.

We had the milky sky here for a while but it's cleared to more hazy blue sky and sunshine :)

Yesterday's time-lapse. Quite an interesting day, if I'm honest. There was also a sundog in the evening too:

Yes, the sky still looks clearer to my east.

No reports of thunder further south so I guess just rain can be expected.

We've got the advantage of heat before the front arrives so it may work in our favour for some thunderstorms mixed in.

25c here but bright at best with thin high cloud.

Just been sat out for a couple of hours which is the longest I've done that since early July.

It's nice to have an easterly that doesn't sheer through your bones and freeze your senses - warm one today.  I expect tea time will be when the rain arrives but not a bad day overall, especially when some in the south have had virtually rain all day.

Amen to that. I hate easterlies in winter.

26C here in Manchester. Just as hot as yesterday...

The bbc precipitation forecast was quite poor as the rain arrived much earlier than they were predicting. The gfs on the other hand is pretty much spot on!

Torrential downpour... Looks to have been home grown ahead of the main band. Was safely sat in there car but a few ppl out caught in it and it looks like they've just climbed out of the swimming pool with all their clothes still on...still at least it's warm

More sharp showers to the south of me now.

I have to say, the first half of the day was dead boring for me and didn't expect this instability ahead of the rain.
