Rain only came to 12mm yesterday so not a patch on July 24th.

Lovely start so far today though. Hope it doesn't cloud over this afternoon.

!2mm you got lucky through this whole event on the last two days we have barely managed 6mm, over 2 days. Some heavy over forecasting was certainly the case, looking at the models and the forecasts they were way out. Even yesterday we were right on the edge of the rain front, so much so my son in Bournemouth saw hardly any rain whilst we saw some late PM, it was that clear cut. Interesting to see how it could hold it's position for so long, I would imagine some folks were well plastered in rain.

OK so here's the hope of a summer plume..

I was expecting more but it seemed to fragment through the day.

Disappointingly cloudy here this morning. Fingers crossed it will clear this afternoon.

A fine if slightly chilly start to the day both at home and here (Bristol)

Cloudy start to the day at home and work, but I was still able to get out with just a t-shirt so not too cool.

Sun is now shining through the window of the office.

Typically today is turning out how yesterday should have been and yesterday turned out as I expected today to be. Ho hum. Beautiful sunshine as I'm stuck in the office.

Disappointinly cloudy here for much of the day.  Feeling very warm in the sun when it did put in an appearance, but cooler with the cloud cover.  At least it's dry.

Beautiful start. Can see the high cloud to the east though - needs to stay just there, no more westwards encroachment thank you very much.

Hazy, yet dry. Grockles wandering around what to do with themselves, in this half summer like weather, which seems to struggle to go one way or the other at the moment.

Temp 17.4°C

RH 74%

Almost a carbon copy with last Tuesday afternoon with thick frontal cloud allowing lightbulb sunshine, although it is clearer to the W/NW so the sun should shine properly as it begins to go down.

Not impressed that the initial Atlantic front looks set to turn up before midday tomorrow when Countryfile it happening during Thursday.

Was just thinking that actually. Bit warmer this week at least.

Right on the edge of the thin high cloud veil here in Aztec West, Bristol. Can see the clear sky only miles to the west so my home will have had a cracking day in Yatton. Looks like a role reversal tomorrow. We're doing well this summer being in a location that's on the edge of fronts to the east, south and west!

seen a few tweets today saying if today is good for you weather wise, then tomorrow will be poor and if today is poor tomorrow will be good, a good old east west split then flip.My take on it however, if you happen to be in the central zone, its crap today and it will be worse tomorrow! Basically that's an IMBY forecast.

Today has seen this begin to turn into a pretty wet August, 14mm today taking the total to 55mm with 12 days left and the potential for a lot more this weekend.

13.4mm so far and still raining, great stuff for the veg & fruit.

Not looking good however for the air show with possible showers/low cloud base. Sunday looks a possible mess for those hoping to see the Vulcan one last time.

Bmth Air show off to a bad start, with the first two flights cancelled due to the cloud base, which is probably around 100 -130ft at the moment.

Vulcan bomber flight has change to Saturday as the promise of the write off on Sunday was fairly certain.
