Turned in to a lovely sunny afternoon, breezy but dry.  Next few days looking dismal though.

The SW looks like copping a lot of rain once again over the next few days, another batch knocking on the door as I type this with the Cornwall particularly wet looking. Patchier rain further East towards my region whilst things should improve by the Bank Holiday weekend for most of us, judging by the latest media forecast I saw.

Like last Wednesday, this is the second Octoberish day this month - suppressed temperatures, moderate rain and a chilly wind. At least the weekend's rain was more summery in nature - all 49.4mm of it!

It's been hovering around the 12-13C mark all day. Didn't January have a couple of days like that?

Max temp today half that of Saturday. Have been near Salisbury helping at my wife's school and much heavier rain there than at home with nearly 25mm in the gauge there as opposed to 15mm at home.

Seriously hoping that tomorrow's rain holds off until as late in the morning as possible as I have a lot of outdoor work to do.

I think it's weird that frontal rainbands are nearly always timed for the day, and not the night,

Grey dark and foreboding, no rain as yet in Bristol, a rather chilly feel as well.

Was thinking the same thing. I'd have a much more different opinion of August if these rainbands moved through in the equivalent nighttime hours.
