I have just seen a short video on FB of my home town with a fair few inches of rainwater by the station, I expect the shopping center is under water too. Last time I saw that was about 10 years ago, and i had a torrent of water to walk over to get to my flat!

It must of really come down.

Naff all up in Watford at the moment, I would say convective rain but nothing exciting. Not bothered though, I hope something brews up after sun down so it's a proper light show

But I'll take whatever! :D

Still the odd rumble here but for the first time today I can analyse the clouds as there is now some breakup. There are three layers of cloud. We have very low cloud racing in from the NE, mid level clouds moving in from the south and a white featureless anvil type above. Plenty of shear there!

according to satellite, cloud does appear to be thinning/breaking down to the south-east which I think will be great for Kent/London and later East-Anglia this PM. However I think anywhere to the West of the IOW has had it, the detritus left over will inhibit anything surface based.

nothing surface based was never likely in the uk as it would require a very temperature to initate this more like to happen in france and germany the benelux countries which may affect the SE of england East anglia and the East coastal areas as stated by estofex

There's been reports on BBC News about flooding in Eastbourne affecting the trains and forcing evacuation of the shopping centre. Can't find a link to it on the website though.

Wow with all the people saying they are only having rain in their area while here where I live its like I'm in a different country with the continuous thunder and lighting appearing everywhere

But don't worry, if you miss the storms I have recorded 15mins of the thunderous cell and I'm uploading it to youtube right now

It's good like that innit :D Even better at night :D

Really drap up here in Derbyshire. Grey and no feeling of humidity. This afternoon could very well be more of a wash out rather than any sort of activity.
