A very mild wet and windy day after a pretty cold start.

Its awful.

A glimmer of hope getting closer to Christmas but 10 days away is along way off.

http://weather.unisys.com/gfs/gfs.php?inv=0&plot=850&region=eu&t=10d

Sounds familiar. Remember hearing that a lot during the monstrosity that was "winter" 2013/14. Anytime there was a glimmer of hope that things were going to change for the better, it was always 10 days away.

Hi guys,

Back after 12 days in Canaries.

Temp at 5.9C.  Thats 17C cooler than I have been playing golf in!!

Wheres the sun gone?

Got awfully confused when I tried to sign on and I saw the new format. Took me ages to find this forum.

Any prospects of winter yet?

MIA

I think December here hasn't been too bad so far. Yes a few dull wet days but actually an OK amount of sunshine here at least. No sign of winter yet. In fact the next week could see 14-16c reached so we won't be a million miles off the canaries!

Thick fog for the last 26 hours here, visibility was only 40 mts at 1800 when I went out to take the readings.

Very mild though with the temperature currently at 9.2c.

Just had a little bit of hail here with rain. It may not be snow but nice to see some icey precipitation close to Christmas rather than the liquid only variety.:)

I actually took a bit of notice of the weather yesterday with the amazing cloudscapes that came through.

It was like the weather reminding us that it is still there!

Back to normal today though. No end in sight within a sensible time range as well. Really fed up of it now after the last 2 years but hey ho..what can we do about it eh?

Actually had a mostly clear night, yet it didn't drop below 6C just 24 hours before the winter solstice. It regularly dropped below that in June. And 10 minutes before sunrise it clouded over and is now belting down.

What is wrong with this month?

An almost cloudless start to the day here after a few overnight showers.

It could hardly be classed as  cold though with a current temp' of 4.1c.
