It's getting worse in the MAD Thread l. Talk of the worst blizzards since 1963 ...get the cold in first then worry about snow at this stage 🤣🤣🤣

I've always been a strong believer in atmospheric balance and am not surprised in one bit to see the potential for large negative temperature anomalies for December after such an unbroken stint of above average months.

I think the first major snows will reach us in Cymru a week Wednesday ❄️

Before then let's enjoy a gradual cool down 😃

I fully agree with that sentiment, based on my own observations over the years. Problem is that nature doesn't ask us humans when it might be convenient to swing the other way but makes up it's own 'mind', hence I suppose we have seen rather cold springs in the recent past, notably May 2021 which was the coldest in many years. And wasn't April this year very cold too, with frost registered somewhere in the UK on every single day? Just hope that for once we are lucky enough to see frosty weather materialize in winter and not when you want to grow veggies. Snow would be an added bonus here for us so close to the see, but not impossible. Haven't looked at the MOD thread yet to see if the bet is still on. Have a good day, all!

I do hope we get some good snowfal this winter, for us on the coast too not just higher up.

Chilly day in the fog, only 4c on the car temp!

Doesn't look cold enough for costal snow yet but going a couple miles inland could make the difference for some snow, fingers crossed! I'll be in work away from the coast Monday so hopefully see some if it continues to show

We should see some wintry precipation next week eventually turning to snow in a keen brisk N easterly-easterly wind.

All looking good in the Mod thread, its nice to finally see an increasing possibility of some proper winter weather and hopefully prolonged cold!

Whilst easterlies/North Easterlies are generally not the best for precip/snow for us hopefully some disturbance will crop up to give us some good snow like they have in the past! Exciting times ahead I think 😁😁

Looking at some charts for Sunday and Monday a'i wouldn't at all be surprised if the hills if Powys, Eryri and Bannau Brycheiniog Get their first covering widely above about 350m.

Could even see snow down to circa 150m in heavier showers, doubt it will settle much just yet, but a nice appetiser!

And then mid week onwards we've got this to look forward to 😃

Totally avoid thread cold spell already over 10 days from now!Snow extent has extend southwards not far off  1968 record were records began,Will benefit UK as tempretures fall to cold -very cold by the end of next week as wind direction switches to more of northerly direction.
