Only a car crash if you live down south. Loads of potential snow events for us.

After the update from John Holmes last night I'm not buying all this doom and gloom at all. Watch the 06z show a slight flip again and the 12z!

John over the years tends to be pretty much spot on when it comes to cold spells / periods so I go along with that

The model thread is skewed by views of those down south who need much better synoptics to deliver. Still plenty of chances ahead and we have weeks of winter still left.

Tomorrow morning is looking promising for my location but ill expect cold rain after the last debacle where the front just sat 30 miles away all day!

Tomorrow's graphics on the meto website look pretty good now. Let's hope it switches to snow fairly quick and keeps intensity. That's the key to most of us getting a good covering I think.

Saturday also showing another possible snow day.

Ensembles aren't quite as good next week on the 0z to what I showed yesterday but still chances I think going forward...

Arome 0z looks potentially good for South Yorkshire from about 5pm and good for North and West Yorkshire from 11pm.

East Yorkshire will get snow over the Wolds but may struggle i suspect nearer sea level.

Bound to snow tomorrow as I need a repair on my gas boiler so we'll get ten feet and it will then fail.

i dont trust the Icon when it comes to precipitation charts. I reckon most of that will be sleet or rain unless you are above 200 m ( Pennines will probably do well on Thur for snow )

We had a freezing rain event probably over five years ago. It rained on frozen ground in the morning school run time. Suddenly everyone was skating and struggling to stay up on their feet. Kids found it fun but it was very scary. Especially when a bus couldn’t stop at a junction and slid straight onto a main road. Fortunately nothing  was coming. It really is deathly.

Hope we do see some snow tomorrow, personally I can't think of anything more dismal than days when it's both cold and raining.
