Very light snow. Everything on the radar seems to disappear as it reaches Chester le street though. North of here should get a good covering

Such little activity on here???

Forecasts are showing heavy snow showers for tonight.  Does anyone have any detail on this?

Shower activity has moved way out into the N.Sea and according to wind maps I cant see the direction changing from the current NW to N to bring the showers in...

I can't see anything hitting us either with the current wind direction.

Decent packet of showers heading south, especially the ones east of scotland.

Just a question of how far inland they get as always.

There was some heavy wet snow here just over a hour ago but only settled on cars

I imagine inland there will be a covering this morning

Hello!

Great start to winter here on Teesside. Woke up to a really good covering this morning it looks like a proper winter wonderland I was shocked when I looked out of the window! That's two decent falls this week!

Yep 3 snow mornings already in Guisborough and only two days into December, I will happily take that as the starter before the main course in Jan/Feb and the desert in March.

If you have Net Wx Extra, go to where it shows upper winds, use the 850 and 700 mb wind flows to give a good idea the direction the radar echoes will probably move over about 3 hours, sometimes longer

Just managed to get a few flakes from those early morning showers and a very cold day today as well with some hill snow possible tonight,so a pretty good start to winter this time.

Yes,yellow weather warning for rain with snow falling over 300m,but snow level is way lower.

Snowing quite heavy here with a good covering which will catch people out.

Good to see gritters out in Stanley minutes before snow started. Rare for them to not be caught off guard.

Has settled very quickly & I'm about 250m asl. Once again it's that marginal sticky stuff which can play havoc quite quickly with power lines etc due to weight.

Accuweather not too shabby, would take snow days into double figures
