Morning all,

Long time, no post on here.

Hope I find yourselves and your Families, well.

Yes, I'm still here, and very perceptive of you E.E., and not too far from the truth but at the first hint of a Thames Snow Streamer, I'll be here. Just try and stop me!!

What a trying Year and a half it's been. For Yours Truly, since the end of February, it's been a real Nightmare, as that was the time the little lad in my Avatar photo, sadly passed away. My Son Antony, lost his 17 Year battle with Huntington's Disease, which he unfortunately had inherited from his Mother, my first Wife [who passed in 2008]. Antony was just a Month short of his 40th birthday, when he left us. Sadly, the little Lady in the photo, also inherited the HD gene, from her Mother but fortunately has no signs of this dreadful disease, at the moment. Antony's passing was made doubly distressing, as due to the Pandemic, myself and his Stepmum, were unable to visit him, for over a Year. Neither of us drive, we have to take a lot of Cabs, here and there, as I have trouble using buses, due to having poor balance, after experiencing a Stroke 6 Years ago.

Both myself and my Wife, have been triple jabbed [2 AstraZeneca, and a Pfizer booster], and this Monday we had our Flu jabs. I'm convinced both myself and my Wife had the Coronavirus, way back when it was first making the headlines, last Feb/early March. In fact, I have only ventured outdoors 6 times, since 26th Feb, last Year. On each occasion, it was for Covid/Flu or Pneumonia jabs.

My Wife has done an incredible job, keeping myself and my Stepson save and sanitized!!

Some of you will realise, I have been about on the Forum and "hosting" Horse Racing and other Sports Competitions. This has helped greatly to mitigate the loss of my job in the Betting Industry, due to that Stroke, as I was forced to retire a couple of Years before I needed to but this old    f--t, has now reached pensionable age, and "hosting" these Competitions has greatly helped in my rehab, after that Stroke.

I hope the Regional mods won't mind but I plan to reintroduce my Sammy the Snowman, "Countdown to Christmas" feature. Which was an irreverent and light hearted look, at the prospects of Snow on Christmas Day, for the S.E. Region.

Those of you that followed Sammy's Xmas tale last Year, may remember that he was planning his Wedding with Samantha Snowlady. which is booked to take place, at the Finnish Ski Resort, of Levi. You may remember that Sammy, Samantha and thousands of other Snowmen selflessly sacrificed themselves, in a Sudden Stratospheric Warming, in an attempt to bring the "white stuff" to our Region but sadly last Winter, it amounted to "diddly squat." But the loved-up couple have miraculously regenerated, Dr. Who-like, and have spent the Spring, Summer and first part of the Autumn, snuggled up in a Chest Freezer at Snowdown, just North of Dover. They have helped finance their Finnish Wedding'Honeymoon, by leasing out another couple of Chest Freezers to the Government, for storing Covid-19 vaccines.

Sammy is planning to start this Festive Seasons, "Countdown to Christmas", at T384. My dodgy Maths tells me, that's about December 9th, when Christmas Day first appears on the Radar, of the GFS Forecast model.

I'd better end this post on a Meteorological note, and make a Weather related comment. I can't believe yet another Summer has passed us by, with so little thunder to report. As I'm a self confessed Brontophobe, although not as bad as I was after my near fatal Stroke, and my poor Son's, demise, I feel I've dodged yet another thundery bullet. I can only recall hearing a few rumbles during the Summer Months, and nothing close by. That must be nigh on 3 Years now, since I experienced a proper T/Storm, here in S.E. London. That's unheard of, in my "neck of the woods". Is this another element, of Climate Change?

Regards,

Tom.

Oh Tom what an awful time you've had. I was moved to tears reading your post and I only hope the the most difficult challenges have now been borne and, with you and your wife triple vaccinated / flu jabbed, you will both get through the winter virus free - and start to feel more confident about going out again.  Best wishes for an easier 2022.

No windscreen de-frosting required this morning after an overnight (brief) low of 3.8c.  Max temperature of 10.5c at 12.55, currently 3.5c with 85% humidity.  A chilly evening dog walk tonight.  Wind NW between 0 and 3 mph. 2 minute average of 1.4 and 10 minute average of 0.3, so not a lot to keep the temperature from dropping lower tonight.   Pressure currently 1020.7hPa rising slowly.  Have had 0.2mm of rain at 8am.

Today's weather highlight; after the brief rain and a dull cloudy morning the sun appeared at lunchtime and remained until sunset.  Turned into a lovely sunny afternoon, enabling all the grass to be cut without completely clogging the mower - yay!

Yep! another breezy day! Lost count the amount of days like this in the last couple of weeks or so, only had 1 relatively calm day in that time...at least the suns out so I suppose we can't have everything. Medium term outlook by latest ECM run goes for mild, mild and mild but largely dry.

Rain has arrived again, unfortunately not heavy enough or going to last long enough to stop the effing fireworks

Same here yesterday BB.  With my poor dog already in a state of extreme anxiety after Thursday and Friday's local fireworks I was horrified yesterday to see the  ASBO neighbour had built a 10 foot high bonfire (mostly green, newly cut hedge cuttings, presumably to create a pall of smoke visible from the International Space Station and impress their inebriated friends) and the huge amount of explosives he'd got lined up; enough to start a small country war!  Actually it would probably have cost them less to start a war.   No advance warning.  Despite them knowing everyone in our little cluster of houses has dogs, and in full knowledge that our dog is so terrified of the loud explosions and incoming missiles they particularly enjoy that he needed emergency vet treatment last year after he went went into shock, when they kicked off with enormous bomb blasts (we hadn't even known they were having fireworks).

Total disregard for the poor horses (literally) on the other side of our gardens as well.   With bouts of light rain and wind gusts in the high 20's and low 30'sc, I was hoping he'd decide it might be a tad risky and postpone the effing event.  Not a bit of it.   We put the poor dog in the car, fled the area and sought asylum at a family house over 20 miles away.   Have today collected a carrier bag full of sharp plastic and unburnt explosives and what looks like unspent shotgun pellets from the back lawn and front garden today.  Apparently one of the horses got injured from bolting in panic and other neighbours have said it was horrendous, last nearly 45 minutes and sounding like a war zone.

Today's weather sunny, reaching 12c at 12.11.  Feeling chilly in the west north westerly, gusting around 20mph.  Pressure currently 1020.5 steady.  No rain has fallen since midnight.

Sorry you have such horrific (and the swear filter wouldnt allow what I would actually like to call them), neighbours, hope doggie is ok today. Mine was already stressed from the previous night and in fact we didnt really have that many, but it only takes one to set him off, so was in a state before the local display started (which is maybe 5-6 miles away but he can still hear them), and today has his usual stress stomach runs. Hopefully tonight will be quieter for us all .

Been a largely sunny day here, 12c reached again, but with the nagging cold wind, washing been on the line all day but still not quite dry.

No wind today!...hurrah! and the suns out as well, a nice November day. Still waiting for the 1st frost of the Autumn and will guess here on the coast will be a few weeks to wait.

Really pleasant autumn's day here. Lovely to be out and about. After an overnight minimum of 1C at 07.00 the temp this afternoon has crawled up to 10C in the sunshine. But maybe not so good for the east of the Region with persistent cloud?

Had a lovely day out to Kew Gardens today, I’ve never been before. Certainly didn’t get to see everything. There were blue skies on the coast but further north more cloud. Some spectacular autumn colours on show,

Afternoon all,

Firstly @TomSE12 utterly very moving indeed and sincere wishes to you and your family . As for today was lovely and sunny this morning a little breezy, now Cloudy and quite breezy and 10c Hmmm probably a degree or two less tbh. After very recently having a TIA 6 weeks ago then 4 weeks later a mild stroke, now still of work until early December. Much exercise daily, Typing is a very good exercise, well that is my excuse anyway . As for the non successful lumber punch OMG "Ouch" legs still tingly and slightly at times numb from the LP is annoying, The LP was for to rule out MS Due finding a a small white dot near the Stroke damage area in brain, results we're not confirmed due to failed Lumper Punch although the stroke doctor said it was very uncommon and unlikely, Still plays on my mind though.

So Winter? the journey begins ? we will succeed this time ? Let the coming weeks fun begin
