As nice (and as warm)! as yesterday was.........Today isn't. Grey and a little drizzly (and grey might be the story of the week)

Looking forward to the onset of, hopefully, colder conditions. Another snowless November, so far, with little in the way of frosty mornings.

Currently cloudy, dry, 10°C with a brisk southerly wind.

What's happened to the Autumn storms we used to get?

Yes, evidence in the models growing for something more wintry for next week. Meanwhile a rather nondescript kind of day here today. Mostly cloudy, one or two very light showers and virtually no wind. Max of 9.4C and min of 5.2C.

My daughters pal caught a Brocken spectre while they were up in the Perthshire hills yesterday.

Well, it would be a complete contrast to the incredibly benign autumn so far.

    Today no exception.

A few blinks of sunshine, light to fresh southerly winds and dry.

Temperatures a mild 12.4c (max) and even now its still 10.1c!

Edit - the variety in clouds never ceases to amaze...

    Excellent news!

The Met Office see much colder temperatures for my area on Sunday. Perfect autumnal weather:

Very wet overnight, temperature holding up all night with a low of only 9.9c.

Very misty and murky first thing, skies clearing from the NW to leave a lovely sunny day.

Feeling warm in the sunshine thanks to the calm conditions.

    Currently 10.4c.

It rained in the early hours and that left a dull and damp daybreak, but it’s been drying up and brightening up since then. Looking alright now.

Temperature high was 11.4⁰C at 01:00 dropping to a low of 8.9⁰C at 08:19 then rising to the high of 11.4⁰C again at 12:03 and now 10.3⁰C, humidity is 87%, wind 0 to 1mph west-southwesterly, pressure is 1024.9hPa steady, there’s been 5.6mm of rain today and in the last 24 hours, and cloud cover is building up again at 7/8.

The GFS is still sticking to the theme of a cold end to the month, but as we all know too well that's a long time off yet and much could/will change.

    gfsnh-0-300.png?12

Ignore any talk of a 2010 repeat as that's extremely unlikely just due to how unusual that was.

As for the here and now, a damp and frequently misty start to the day today but clear on the way home. If it stays that way it could get chilly overnight, maybe a frost? Despite having to scrape the car a couple of times this month I've not really had a grass frost yet, and it is quite unusual to get to mid Nov without one.

Trying not to get carried away, as it'll probably all backtrack and end up as cold rain, but ECM also playing ball...

Also trying not to get carried away with other forms of 'playing ball` currently in progress tonight.

@Ravelin Really? Behave yourself! You should know better.

Temperature didn’t improve over the afternoon, it stayed overcast, there was no more rain and the pressure dropped to 1023.0hPa now, falling slowly. The temperature is currently 8.4⁰C, so hardly arctic.

Yes I know, theres more chance of Scotland beating Denmark at football than those charts verifying, and we all know there's no chance of Scotland beating Denmark... Oh, wait....

Ha! Touché. But it’s a fair case in point because, while I claim no great knowledge of football, I thought two weeks ago, after two dodgy wins against Israel and Faroes and losing Dykes to suspension, along with Denmark not only having won all their games but also not losing a single goal, that there was very little to no chance of Scotland beating Denmark. However, move on to the weekend just past, Scotland had secured a play-off place, the team played well against Moldova and we were scoring goals, whereas Denmark had conceded a goal, at last, against Faroes, had lost some key players to injury and were going to field two right-footed players in left side positions against us. At that point I was sure Scotland would win. Just shows how circumstances can change over a fortnight, in football as well as the weather.

Today is dull and damp with a smirr of rain in the air although the wind is still light and it’s cool rather than cold. Temperature high today is 9.7⁰C now, up from a low of 7.4⁰C at 02:33, humidity is 87%, wind is 2 to 9mph southwesterly with a maximum gust of 13mph at 11:14, pressure is 1011.8hPa dropping fast, there’s been 0.2mm of rainfall today and in the last 24 hours, and cloud cover is 8/8 as it has been all morning.

The win over Denmark was amazing but to celebrate so much it causes an earthquake is taking it to the extreme

Are we just not talking about the pretty awesome charts in case we scare them away?

9/10 days out, i'm still predicting a meltdown on the other thread when it goes wrong in 2 or 3 days.

    Beautiful day.

Third frost of the season overnight (just though, low of -0.1c).

As for the morning, clear blue skies to begin with but there are some high altitude clouds approaching from the west (potential for a cracking sunset though if it remains at that).

With very light winds and a current temp of 6.1c its a perfect day to get things done outside.
