I think for us Midlanders, we have 2 bites at the cherry to see some of this snow settle.

 

Tonight, once it gets dark, I would expect some of it to start sticking for quite a few of us. Not expecting anything major, 2-5cm possible, but better than nothing! Then, the second bite at the cherry comes on Friday morning when the low starts to move away and drag the colder air South again. Looks a lot less marginal when that happens as well. So Friday morning could potentially be better for us.

Yes I’ve just been looking at that for Friday am, as the low pulls away the colder air will sink Southwards with the white stuff mixed in…defo one to keep an eye on

Turning into a winter wonderland on the Malverns (sorry to you who haven't seen much yet). We have about 4 cm on the walls here, starting to build up more on the ground (but that's been much slower). Trees properly coated white, moderate snow falling currently.

Okay It’s has been a little messy today for sure, but 24-36hrs ago none of us wasn’t really expecting anything today at all and Thursdays forecast at the time was going all Northbound, so to see snowfall today is a bonus as I look at it and it still ain’t over yet

Gaps starting to fill south and west of me!!anyone confirm any sticking snow coventry or birmingham area?!!

Well it's started again here in cov coming down well. And with the change in time of day it's already trying to settle on parked cars. And the radar to the south of me seems to have expanded a bit.

If I'm reading the radar correctly then more due in the next hour for Brum

@Battleground Snow stuie just posted in the mod thread fax is even further south for 12z tomorrow!!!we look in sweet spot!!!ukmo looks similar as well!!

Nah….but I’ll let ya know as it’s just started again….fairly big flakes, best I’ve seen all day

Not sure, Met Office simply not having it, confident of rain Thursday afternoon/evening, which is odd as according to FAX we are a good 100 miles north of the front tomorrow.

Extremely complex, in heavy bursts the temp will come down even it's just above freezing at 5000 feet (850hpa).

It will definitely start off as snow, it's just where and what time it transitions is the big question

Just started up here again getting a covering on the roofs and on the grass and the slushy pre stick you get on the ground, fingers crossed it'll give a good covering once it goes dark
