Haha yep! Back on the snow hunt from November i guess. Wouldn't mind a few wind storms as well, been lacking them recently.

Snow hunt from November lol ….your hoping, the last visit of worthy November Snow was 2010, if I remember correctly 👌 but yes I love extremes…so a good old, “as somebody mentioned “somebody mentioned there’s a hurricane on the way” and we famously remember that one 😉

And why not 🤣🤣🤣

Pretty much the only reason I start to look for any snow potential in the models from November is can't really get any warmth which I also enjoy, so might as well hunt for any snow chances. Late November 2017 remember getting a dusting from a shower at sunrise, about 2 weeks before the major snow in December. Similar with December 2022, had that cold spell arrived 2 weeks earlier and everything set in the right place, might just have got a dumping in November. But agreed, it is quite rare.

So much cloud cover here bar the odd sunny spell, and looking rather autumnal for the next two weeks at least...

Rumbling away in the distance yet again. I'm so fed up of being just on the edge of a decent storm this last couple of weeks. There's no shortage of thundery weather, apart from overhead!

Thought worth recording that I recorded 21.2mms of rain yesterday. A very wet Friday,

Showers just getting going again here now.

My recorded total for the month so far is 69.8mms.

Yes some active weather at last, strong gusty winds here with showers rattling through. A day on the safa for me..

Just had a short heavy shower with hail and thunder. That's two days with hail so far this month; the only other July, since 1963, with 2 was in 2009.

Nothing notable here, bar a few strong bustery winds and some moderate rain.

Maybe one rumble a few hours ago?

Streeting precipitation as the low pressure passes by

Really am getting tired of this month now. Barely any sunshine to speak of, and not a single thunderstorm (which is in contrast to most areas of the Midlands). Bring on August for crying out loud!

Yeah was almost a gale out there earlier, knew it was gonna be windy but how strong was surprising.

Yeah there's been a few nice visuals, albeit nothing spectacular.

For those interested, here is a map showing every recorded lightning strike in the region over the last 30 days.

I know 18-21c may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it. Really pleasant and comfortable for sleeping when out and about. Glad we’re getting a bit of respite on the rain now and the temperatures are remaining pleasant for the foreseeable! I’m sure we’ll get that hot spell yet in august 😛

Wonder if anyone can help. My daughter is participating in the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in 2 weeks time with unit 89 of the UK contingent. I am concerned about the amount of rainfall they have had and recent flooding. I have meteociel but gfs doesn't cover Asia (unless I'm being extremely dumb). Can anyone point me in the direction of a semi reliable model for that area for me to monitor?

85.4 mm of rain from the 1st to 15th of July makes this the wettest first half of July on record here ( since 1977 ), beating 2007 which recorded 82.9 mm in the first half.

Just now, Neil Harris said:

Doom and gloom everywhere, but today was a nice Summers day here..

Early rain cleared by 8 and apart from one brief shower , loads of sunshine and light winds

still doom and gloom, seen the models? absolutely disgusting
