there's even a mention of freezing rain. That's worse than snow in my books. hits the floor and freezes. reckon a few sunday shoppers will be knocking into other cars if it happens. and a few slips and stumbles too 😞

Experienced freezing rain once only, in Bruges last December. Was horrific, saw cyclists just going A over T. We were walking on cobbled roads, so dangerous, pavements were sheets of ice. My coat was an ice sheet.

I have no idea what the temperature was today as the cat peed on, and killed my new Argos weather station. 6 pounds down the drain.

Coldest night of the year here now at -3.7c, second lowest was February 9th at -3.6c

Last low before that was -4.5c on December 12th last year.

Can't work out how it is possible, we need extreme synoptics to see even 1 snowflake on the south coast these days.

Thar said,it turned to sleet and rain near the Amex.

It washed the grit off the road, black ice immediately formed on the A27 and there has now been a horrendous multi veichle pile up near the stadium.

Looks awful, incredible no ice warnings here from the met office!

Wondering if we might see abit of snow from that?

It needs to push up quite soon for us not to catch any of it , where I am.

Current obs on my station and its falling as freezing rain, can hear it on the house and path outside. Can’t see a lot as only one small old fashioned streetlight a few meters away but the leaves left on the tree in the front garden are falling off readily as the accumulating ice weighs them down!

Kind of wish it was light to see it happen but equally relieved it’s dead of night as it’ll be lethal at the moment.

Temps gradually rising now, up 0.3C last hour to -1.7C. But we did manage an ice day that kept us in freezing fog for the whole day. Apparently now under freezing rain according to radar but nothing reaching the ground as yet.

If I had the ability to grant people their weather desires and wishes, I would totally give you wintry showers Mark😁 especially as you said please.

I'd also be very rich.

Had it here in Dover a few years back, no thanks, although the uppers then went negative, and we had snow on top of ice, horrific.
