Well it certainly looked dark skies to the north as this one missed us..

Was waiting for it, before I go out and continue picking fruit, right may as well get out there..

Retired to the greenhouse as this little puppy arrived for a few minutes.

A good 8.6mm drenching this morning. Soil moisture sensor is happy

I like the graph, especially the zone definition, I'm still trying to come to grips with how it relates to the actual soil dampness with the figures produced by the Davis, as mine is showing a reading of 2 this morning, but I cant' figure out 2 what?

2 centibars, or 0.2 bar, or even 2 kilopascals. It's measured in moisture tension, to simulate the water tension around plant roots.  1cb being completely saturated. 200cb devoid of any moisture, or frozen ground.

@Mapantz ah OK, now at least makes more sense, seems a big difference between the two of us, mind you my "soil" is largely compost, and the sensor is about 12cms deep (baring in mind I have had to rebury it a few times because of the fox digging it up!). I'll keep on eye on mine and see how it moves through the scale as it dries out again, but it's a big difference 2 compared to your 52!

Morning All, bright and breezy by definition this morning! The overnight low of 9.8°C at: 02:35 has climbed to 17.5°C, RH65%, with 15mph breeze in from the SW.

From above the weather front straddling the far western coasts

Meanwhile at sea level plenty of white water around

Still a breezy ol' day only changes appear to be the wind direction has moved to SW / S and the temperature managed to haul itself up to 19.1°C at: 14:34, oh AND the cloud has increased this afternoon, one of those non-descript days really, but it was pleasant in the sun this morning, fruit picking..

Autumnal is the word to describe today. Another late Septemberish sort of day really.

That said, this month has surpassed 200 hours of sunshine despite unremarkable temperatures so all is not lost.

Absolutely, popped my fleece on this evening!

Rotten down in Kingsbridge tonight, but the rain is definitely welcome. Looks like it will be settled by the weekend too☺️

Finally got a bit of rain this evening. The radar suggests more to come in the next hour. Happy garden.

Rain certainly taking longer to clear than thought, and really pepping up here too, decently heavy.

Yep just started to rain properly now. Good for the garden as most of this month's rain has come in two days (both weekend days of course). Ass long as it's done one by tomorrow.

Yes here it certainly hasn't felt very summerlike over the last few days, especially with the keen breeze we've had. Hopefully will feel better towards the end of the week.

Sunny earlier in the day today but clouded over later. Reached 18.4°C

Quiet in here today, I figured I best something to kept it alive! So lets see, the overnight low of 12.2°C at: 05:51, managed to climb to 19.2°C at: 11:51, and has since fallen back to 16.5°C, Rh78% and an average 8mph wind in from the WSW, patchy cloud this morning followed this afternoon with a generic layer of sun sapping Cu intermixed with a layer of St this afternoon.

It feels like Bristol has been one of the unluckiest and wettest places in the UK today, stuck under a constant stream of heavy showers.

Since about 2pm, it's been wet more than dry, with frequent bursts of heavy rain temporarily turning roads to rivers.

Never underestimate how quickly downpours can develop!! The worst happened between radar slide times.

100s of drowned children in school round here!

Ooops! Lots of quite fierce showers around, but we've seen none just here, more inland and to the west, although some brewing in the channel might track over us. The overnight low of 10.0°C at: 05:21, has crawled up to 17.1°C, RH69% and a 8mph light breeze in from the SW, with plenty of Cu about.. local Metar reporting:

Scattered clouds at a height of 2300 ft, Towering cumulus.

At sea level, a lot clearer than inland!

Everything seems to be circling around me or evaporating before reaching me today so far. Hopefully might get a stray something later but not holding out much hope.

At least there's plenty of sunshine instead though. Makes the April temperatures easier to tolerate lol.

Likewise. Lots of very dark clouds to the N and S but nothing has dropped rain here so far. I'm happy for no rain today, had plenty over the last 24-48 hours and now have a full water butt.

Time to mow the grass ...

Norra drop has appeared here, as much as showers are hitting quite a large part of the area. Meanwhile it remains cloudy as the Cu trawl through, permitting a peak of 18.8°C at: 13:32.
